[name]Hi[/name] Berries, so I was talking to my mum about names today and she said that i could have been called [name]Eustacia/name and my brother [name]Eliot[/name] could have been [name]Holden[/name].
So I was wondering what names your parents rejected and whether or not they made the right call!
I would have been [name]Louise[/name] rather than [name]Emma[/name] if my mum had her way! I’m in my late 20s & from the UK, [name]Emma[/name] was a popular choice here in the early 80s as was [name]Louise[/name]. My brother is [name]Graham[/name] but would have been [name]Thomas[/name]
My sister [name]Eilish[/name] was going to be a [name]Siobhan[/name] and my other sister was suppose to be the boy of the family but was named [name]Kerry[/name] as she was darker skinned and [name]Kerry[/name] means The Dark [name]One[/name]. I was going to me a [name]Megan[/name] instead of a [name]Caitlin[/name] after one of the girls who was killed in the Dunblane Massacre when she was five. I do like the name [name]Megan[/name] but one of my friends is a [name]Megan[/name].
I was always going to be [name]Maggie[/name] but for my brother [name]Tyler[/name]… [name]Hunter[/name] was another possibility or [name]Zoe[/name] if he was a girl.
Ooh, I prefer [name]Tyler[/name] much more to [name]Hunter[/name].
My mom would have named me [name]Bonnie[/name] [name]Bea[/name] after her mom and grandmother. My dad would have named me [name]Tiffany[/name]. Instead, they called me [name]Sabrina[/name]. I used to think [name]Bonnie[/name] was horrible and [name]Tiffany[/name] was nice, but now it is the opposite! However, I still love [name]Sabrina[/name].
Instead of Emmabobemma, my dad wanted [name]Phoebe[/name] or [name]Penelope[/name] (but my mother didn’t like the idea of “[name]Penny[/name].”) I remember saying, “Why didn’t you name me [name]Penelope[/name]?! Mom I could have been [name]Nell[/name]!” [name]Ah[/name] well. [name]Penny[/name] would’ve suited me, but [name]Emma[/name] is like a comfortable pair of shoes.
[name]Sabrina[/name] is gorgeous. [name]Lucky[/name] you!
My name was meant to be [name]Courtney[/name] [name]Alison[/name]…until my aunt found out her husband had an illegimitate daughter named [name]Courtney[/name]. Obviously my mom couldn’t use [name]Courtney[/name] after that…
I was almost an [name]Emilia[/name]/[name]Emily[/name]. When I was little I wished passionately I had been an [name]Emily[/name], 80s child that I am. But [name]Dina[/name] suits me just fine now. 
My parents were thinking of a lot of names for me, but finally they thought of [name]Chloe[/name] and apparently they just knew it had to be my name. My mom says if they hadn’t thought of [name]Chloe[/name] I likely would’ve been [name]Mikayla[/name] or [name]Katie[/name] (or a handful of other 90s names). Their original pick was [name]Holly[/name], but seeing as my dad wanted my middle name to be [name]Hope[/name], [name]Holly[/name] [name]Hope[/name] just wasn’t gonna work.
My mother wanted [name]Valerie[/name] or [name]Sylvie[/name], my father wanted [name]Caroline[/name] or [name]Anna[/name].
Dad won with [name]Caroline[/name].
These are all great, and for some of them I think your parents made the right choice 
its nice to see such a wide selection here. Im certainly happy that my parents chose [name]Maya[/name] as I don’t think anybody born in 1999 like [name]Eustacia[/name] (or know how to spell it :D)
If I hadn’t been named [name]Samantha[/name] I would of been [name]Tabitha[/name] or [name]Jolene[/name].
My sister is [name]Danielle[/name] but would of been [name]Amy[/name] or [name]Daniel[/name] If she had been a boy after my grandpa.
My brother [name]Michael[/name] was going to be [name]Phillip[/name] or [name]Isaiah[/name]. If he had been a girl he would of been [name]Amanda[/name].
If my son hasn’t been [name]Holden[/name] he would of been [name]Genevieve[/name] or [name]Hudson[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] would of been [name]Holden[/name] or phoebe if he were a girl
[name]Izabella[/name] was going to be [name]Arabella[/name] or [name]Esmeralda[/name] or [name]Sebastian[/name] had she been a boy.
I was almost a [name]Barbara[/name]. [name]Glad[/name] my parents changed their mind and named me [name]Judith[/name] - especially because it’s seems to be coming back in vogue Had I been a boy, I would have been Byron or Gregory.
My mom’s second choice was [name]Jenna[/name] [name]Rae[/name], but I became [name]Kara[/name] [name]Yvonne[/name] instead. I can’t say I’m a fan of either, but [name]Kara[/name] suits me well. I just hate it when people call me car-uh. If I was a boy, I would have gotten my brother’s name, [name]Kevin[/name] [name]Joel[/name].
I would have been [name]Emmett[/name] if I was a boy. My brother [name]James[/name] was almost a [name]Timothy[/name].
I would have been [name]Emily[/name], [name]Linnea[/name], or [name]Christina[/name]… I like [name]Emily[/name] and [name]Linnea[/name], but [name]Christina[/name]? not so much…
My mom liked [name]Linnea[/name] and my dad liked [name]Christina[/name], but both thought the other name was too frilly.
[name]Emily[/name] was vetoed because it was too popular, (#1 when I was born), but I ended up as [name]Cameron[/name] and there are maybe 6 Camerons at my school and 2 Emilys… good job, parents!
My mother considered [name]Tiffany[/name]-[name]Amber[/name], [name]Amy[/name] & [name]Erica[/name]…My father wanted me to be [name]Angela[/name], [name]Angelina[/name] or [name]Guinevere[/name]…I am [name]Tara[/name]
For my sister my mom wanted [name]Caitlin[/name] & my dad wanted [name]Robin[/name] or [name]Dylan[/name]…somehow they settled on [name]Elizabeth[/name].
Honestly I’ve always been jealous of my sister’s name!
If my mom would not have been working for the woman who suggested my name to her, I would have been KC, but they went the name the woman suggested, [name]Shelly[/name]. I hate my name, and prefer KC. It actually fits me much better than [name]Shelly[/name].
