If someone paid you $10,000

would you name your daughter [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]?

Yes, this is just my way of asking if anyone likes [name_u]Christmas[/name_u], lol. I like it, but would never use it unless I had some sort of incentive (family connection, meaning, etc.). What about you?

It’s not a terrible name but it’s not my taste. I wouldn’t name my child anything I didn’t love! I do know a girl named Shenandoah [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]. … She goes by [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f] so at least there’s a good nn if they don’t like their name!

[name_f]Noelle[/name_f], perhaps, but not [name_u]Christmas[/name_u].

I think [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] could be a charming name on the right person. But, I probably wouldn’t do it.

I love [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]. As [name_u]Christmas[/name_u], the holiday. [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] as a name is ridiculous to me, sorry.

I don’t really like [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] as a fn, it’d be a sweet middle name for a [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] baby though.

No amount of money could make me use a name like [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] on my child. I find it very cheesy and ridiculous on a human being. Maybe a dog.

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] the holiday, but [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] the name? I’m not even sure $10,000 would do it (but it might be a serious tempter!). If I could use a contrived nn, like [name_f]Cara[/name_f], [name_u]Risa[/name_u], or [name_f]Carys[/name_f], then maybe. (Now, if someone promised to pay off all my loans, that’d be a much more serious motivator. Haha!)

I met a guy named [name_m]Willi[/name_m]@m Christm@s once, and I thought it was the coolest (and funniest!) surname ever. I am not sure I could take someone with the FN [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] seriously, sorry.

Yes, but only for the $10,000. I would change her name as soon as I got the money, lol. [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] is a holiday, not a name. A cute sibset would be [name_u]Christmas[/name_u], Halloween, [name_f]Easter[/name_f], and Memorial [name_u]Day[/name_u]!

No money in the world would make me name my daughter anything unless it was [name_f]MY[/name_f] choice!

Yes, she could go by [name_u]Christie[/name_u]. I do think it sounds ridiculous though, and I can’t picture it on a [name_m]Judge[/name_m]/Professional. If that was my name I’d change it to [name_f]Christina[/name_f].
So only for the $10,000, otherwise no.

No. Besides not liking the name, I’m not [name_m]Christian[/name_m], so it would be disrespectful. I dated a guy whose sister was named [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]. I believe she was born on [name_u]December[/name_u] 25th. She went by the full name [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]. If it were my name, I would prefer [name_u]Christy[/name_u] or [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f]…

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] for a girl!! It sounds magical, is a beautiful namesake and makes me smile…so, yes I would name a daughter [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]. Glorious

Nope no way, no amount of money to get me to name my child [name_u]Christmas[/name_u].

I don’t think I could ever use [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] but I do have a bit of a crush on [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] (although I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t ever use this name either).

You bet I would. I’d put all $10,000 towards my college tuition and then change her name.

Probably not as I think it is pretty hard to change a name in Australia. [name_u]Chris[/name_u] names are also really dated in Australia and I don’t really like them too much the only one I can stand is my cousins name.

I wouldn’t as it’s not my style, but I don’t see any issues with it. I think I’d probably go for [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Christiana[/name_f] instead though.

However, it’s not as strange as some may think, this list shows quite a few boys and girls with [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] as part of their name  An assortment of British Christmas-inspired names - British Baby Names

It’s do-able, but not something I’d choose

You could always call your daughter Chrissy or Christy for short if her name was Christmas, but I wouldn’t use Christmas as a baby name.

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was “NO” but, really, 10k is nothing to sneeze at. I’d put it in the kids’ college funds and call her by her (non-holiday-themed) middle name!

Wasn’t [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] a [name_m]Bond[/name_m] girl name?
