[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there Berries! You guys were so helpful over the years with naming my children, [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_m]Quinlan[/name_m] and [name_m]Fox[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m], so I thought I’d post here because, even though my littlest guy is not quite 6 months old, I’ve been dreaming of a third (and final) baby. No idea if we’ll be able to go for it or not, but I’m already having a bit of trouble figuring out a third name, so I wanted to start brainstorming. At this point, with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_m]Fox[/name_m], we (clearly) have a nature theme going on that I’d like to continue, but I don’t want it to sound…like too much, or too matchy matchy, so I’d like to avoid other flower or mammal names. There’s one name that I think is kind of perfect, but it’s the name of a former friend’s kid (and we had a falling out many years ago and don’t ever see each other, but we have mutual friends, so if I could find a different name I like just as much, that would be great!) So I would love any new ideas or opinions on the ones I have.
Here’s what I’m thinking, girl name wise:
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] (this is the name I’d like to avoid due to the former friend, but otherwise it feels perfect.)
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] (I worry since it’s connected to a flower as well as rainbows it’d be too matchy with [name_f]Rose[/name_f].)
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] (not a flower, but I still worry it would be too much with [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and it’s kind of popular, otherwise this is probably my second choice.)
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] (I like that it’s not a flower, but it feels slightly off next to [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_m]Fox[/name_m].)
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (a constellation, so I don’t know if this fits exactly into nature names, or if it feels right.)
[name_f]Lark[/name_f] (I like this a lot but ideally I want something more in the between the traditional [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and more adventurous [name_m]Fox[/name_m].)
I also would consider [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] but it’s the name of one of our cats and my husband says that means we can’t use it, haha. Also, [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is the name of a friend’s kid, so that’s off the table. Are there any other nature names I’m missing? I would be open to using a name with a nature/word meaning, like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], but I don’t want it to feel totally out of left field with the other obvious nature names. Thoughts?
Any other ideas? Other info: our last name is similar to McKeely. If it helps at all in terms of overall style, if we were to have a third and it was a boy, it’d probably be [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u] or [name_u]Robin[/name_u]. (I’d want to avoid the R names since we already have an R kiddo, but my husband loves those two names.) I also love the name [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], nickname [name_u]Kit[/name_u], but [name_u]Kit[/name_u] seems too similar to [name_m]Fox[/name_m] (and not similar enough to [name_f]Rose[/name_f].) I am…possibly overthinking this, haha. Anyway, thanks so much!
