[name_m]Can[/name_m] be anything
i probably wouldn’t change his name, unless he was an infant! but i would want to work together with birth parents to find a name that honors baby’s heritage and their connection with them, as well as something that would honor our adoption journey. ![]()
for example, if bio mom and dad had chosen [name_m]James[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] for baby, and he was a newborn, i’d probably opt for [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m][name_f][/name_f], as one of Silas’s meanings is “Wished for”![name_f][/name_f] ![]()
I don’t understand the question. For a newborn, I would want to choose a name with the birth mother’s input if possible. For an older child, I would not change their name unless there was a safety issue with the birth family.
