Well, title is self-explanatory. Which name out of my UC would you drop/remove/change? Some of these I recently changed, but I’m not super sure on all of them. Also feel free to let me know of any names you think might go nicely too.
I’ll leave them here too:
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_u]Poll[/name_u]:
Which one(s) would you drop?
- [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
- [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
- [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Athena[/name_f]
- [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
- [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
- [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
- [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
- [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
- [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
- [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f]
Well, go at it! Comments are always appreciated!
I dont dislike the names I dropped, but I like the others even more. They’re all beautiful combos that any little lady would be lucky to have.

I honestly love them all but [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] are the ones that I would tweak a little bit by changing up the middle names. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and both names are truly lovely, feels very old to me. I’d probably put a two-syllable middle name ending in -a with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] to make her feel a little fresher (e.g. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Ava[/name_f]). For [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], I’d simply change the syllable number for the middle name so it rolls off the tongue a little better (e.g. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Lyla[/name_f]). But really, that’s cherry picking.

Yeah, both [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] are honor names but I can see where you’re going at there. I definitely think both could use a little tweaking. Thanks!

Could you use an international or diminutive variation of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] to still keep the honour yet make it fit with your names?

Possibly! I’d be open to that. What are your suggestions?
I love the suggestions of Elsa, Elspeth, Elsie and Eliza. If Elsa is too Frozen for you, how about Else, Ilsa or Ilse. Liza, Lizabeth, Elsbeth, Lizbeth, Lilibet, Elsbet, Elspet and Elspie would all work. Lisa could also be used, but I don’t know if it would be too outside the realm of possibilities for you.

My personal favorite “fake [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]” is [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]. I also love [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], and the original itself. When I was younger I joked that I’d name all my girls [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and each would get their own nickname.

I quite like a lot of these combos ([name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] especially) but I don’t like [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] as much.
I’m not a big fan of [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], and while [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is very timeless and doesn’t necessarily sound old, together they seem a bit clunky and outdated. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] may be nice, as [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] has a bit more spunk. Or maybe pull from another combo, forc example [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
And for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], I like both names, but the flow might be better if it was [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] or eithrr name with a different first/middle. Maybe [name_f]Adah[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] or [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]?

I can’t use [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] as a fn, and I don’t necessarily have to include it, but I do agree about it being switched around maybe. I really like [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] as an alternative. Thank you!

I would absolutely keep them then, maybe switch them around a little bit or use a variation as someone else commented (if flow is important to you, it doesn’t have to be).
Fwiw, I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Nora[/name_f] would be lovely (but then it would be [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Athena[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f], also cute but I didn’t mean to switch around your whole signature, haha).
Perhaps [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] or [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f] (I especially love this one)?

I really like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Nora[/name_f]! Thank you! And I don’t necessarily have to keep them. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is my middle name, and for a while I was very fixated on having it in there but I feel like a change might be nice!

I just saw that your name is [name_f]Mary[/name_f], which would also be a beautiful addition to [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (for example) if you decide against [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]! Also sorry for clogging up your thread but I love your names and combinations

I’d drop [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Nora[/name_f] - I find the R and or sounds blur together

Thanks! Yeah I feel like it does smush together a little bit.
