If you could rename yourself, what would your new name be and why?

My real name is quite common, so I would change it to something more unique. I think the name [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] nn [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] would suit me. I have blonde hair and I just think [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] is a cute name.

What about you guys? What would you name yourself?

I would change my name to [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] because Gone With the Wind is my absolute favorite movie and I love the complex character of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. Her character development, at the time the book was written, was quite unusual for its time.

I don’t know. She’s really bratty and self absorbed and just immature at the beginning, but theres just something about her that I’m really drawn to. I identify with her in a way that I can’t describe, and in a way that doesn’t really make sense to me.

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f].

When I was younger there was this tv show called ā€œSo Weirdā€ on the Disney [name_f]Channel[/name_f]. That show became my favorite at the time and I always loved hearing characters say the main character’s name, [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. I came to really identify with the name itself and came to love it. The sounds of the syllables just really resonate for me. I find everything about the name appealing and would be proud to wear it!

As someone with an uncommon name, I would do the complete opposite to you, and change it to something common!

I’ve grown up as the only person in my family with an uncommon name. Seriously my parents, older brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins etc, all have relatively ā€˜normal’ names, and then there’s me, standing out like a sore thumb. (Please don’t think I don’t like my name, I do, I’d just like to not be the only one in the family with an unusual name).

Therefore, were I to ever change my name, it’d be to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], something nice and safe. I’d go by [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] for short.

Perhaps I would be [name_f]Anna[/name_f].

It is a name that I’ve always loved and I think it would suit me.

I dont really know, I guess there are some I would consider.
I think that [name_f]Garnet[/name_f] would work well. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is also nice.
I think that [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] & [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] are lovely and suit me really well, but I wouldn’t use them because I may for future children.

Well, I’m trans, and I’ve been considering [name_m]Liam[/name_m] or [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] at the moment. I’ve been considering using [name_m]Liam[/name_m] since [name_f]February[/name_f] 2018, and [name_u]Dylan[/name_u]'s always been in and out over the past few years. Though, I am considering a unisex name that leans masculine.

If I could just wave a magic wand and everyone would know me by my new name and forget my birth name ever existed… I’d go with [name_f]Alana[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u] (with grandma’s maiden name as surname, sounds somewhat similar to [name_m]Eastwood[/name_m]). I’ve liked the name [name_f]Alana[/name_f] for a long time and can see it fitting me. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] as a tribute to my grandma (father’s side), who hasn’t had any namesakes yet in the family, and is one of the people I admire most. [name_u]Rain[/name_u] because it’s my favourite weather and a lot of my screennames for games etc. are related to rain in some way, and it’d be nice to actually have it as part of my name. I’d use my grandma’s maiden name as the surname because it’s beautiful, unusual, and honours the side of the family I feel closest to, and flows well with my chosen given names.

My real name is [name_f]Vasiliki[/name_f] which i dont particularly like. I have been called [name_f]Belle[/name_f] but i dont think its suited me anymore. If I changed it, it would be [name_f]Margo[/name_f]. Honors my grandmother, can work in both greek and english, and is uncommon in Greece. I also like how strong it sounds. I would probably use [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Vasiliki[/name_f] as a combo.

I don’t know. I’m not particularly attached to my name, but I also can’t think of what else would fit me. I would just change the spelling, I think. [name_f]Eryn[/name_f] to [name_f]Erin[/name_f].

I’ve been told that I seem like the type of person who’d have a long, classic, masculine name. [name_m]Eric[/name_m] sounds quite masculine but down-to-earth, in my opinion. I quite like it though, it has a history. On a teenager today, it is very known but not too common (certainly not as much as it was in the 70s/80s).

Back to the point, I adore [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], but I’m worried it’ll become too trendy, and it doesn’t translate well into other languages. I like [name_m]Gerald[/name_m], but it’s too strong for me, and I hate nickname [name_u]Jerry[/name_u] (much prefer the one syllable Ger). [name_m]Archibald[/name_m] is great, but not my style, though I’d love to name a pet or child it. [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], yet again great, just not for me. The same applies to the rest of the names in my signature. I might go with [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] due to its history and the fact that people know it, but it isn’t too common.

Wouldn’t really be a huge change. My real name is [name_f]Katie[/name_f], so I’d lengthen it to [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. I don’t hate my name as is, though, so I’d never do it. I just use [name_f]Kate[/name_f] to sound a bit more mature :slightly_smiling_face:

I was very close to changing my name until not too long ago (various reasons have made me decide against it). The name I ultimately decided on was [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. I think it suits me and what I want as my name very well. It’s common, but feminine and timeless. I think [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] would’ve been another good choice for me. That’s what I really wanted my middle name for [name_f]Anna[/name_f] to be, but decided if I was going to change it that I would keep my original name in the middle spot. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] was another option high on my list. I still love it and I still think it fits me. Same with [name_f]Colette[/name_f] (though this is kind of a name I hold in high regard and is almost too good for anyone in my mind, lol). However, like I said, I did decide to keep my original name, so these are just names I use at coffee shops now

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I like my name but I like the friendliness of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. It has a strong sound despite also feeling like a cute nickname. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is beautiful and I pretty much like it as a middle name for anything!

I think I would make a nice [name_f]Anna[/name_f].

[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] or [name_f]Noa[/name_f] maybe. Id also like [name_f]Andi[/name_f].

Right now it would be [name_f]Claudia[/name_f] nn [name_u]Claude[/name_u]. Or maybe just [name_u]Claude[/name_u]?

I’ve also considered [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Christine[/name_f], [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f], and [name_f]Sonya[/name_f].

[name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f], always. I love short first names and hyphenated or longer middle names. I don’t know if [name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is long enough though. Maybe [name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f].

I’ve already renamed myself! I never liked my given name so I changed it to Agnetha after my favourite musician. But if I had to rename myself, either [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] or [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] simply because I like those names.

[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] - it’s a pretty, classic name with a few cute nicknames.
