I thought this would be a fun topic! If you are done with having children, but you and your partner still picked out your name for your “next” child IF you had another - what would it be ?
[name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to share the story behind the name and your current kids names!!
We are not having any more kids, sadly, but we did have a fun conversation last night and decided if we had another baby - boy or girl- we would name her/him [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Scotland[/name_u]. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is a name we’ve had on our list for a while, and I love the nature connection. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I both have Scottish roots - his great grandmother is from [name_u]Scotland[/name_u] and mine are way further back.
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_u]Lauren[/name_u], and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Scotland[/name_u]
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u].
Cool idea!
We’re stopping at two but we had agreed on [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] if our boy was a girl.
Other girl names we both love are [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f].
Boy names we dont agree on! But I would push for [name_u]Reggie[/name_u]. I think I could convince him.
Ours kids are [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_u]Marlo[/name_u] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]
I love thinking about this! [name_f]My[/name_f] kids are [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u], [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] and [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u].
If we had another boy, we both love [name_m]Ivo[/name_m]
I love [name_f]Flor[/name_f]- names and have never got to use one (I tried to sell DH on [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_m]Florin[/name_m] and [name_u]Florian[/name_u] in the past, to no avail) so I’d probably push for [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_u]Florian[/name_u] for fantasy #5. I like my kids’ middles to feel like a cohesive group as well as the first names and [name_u]Florian[/name_u] has the right feel, flow and sound, I think.
Other strong middle name contenders could be [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m], [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u], [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] Somerled.
For a girl, I’d be seriously tempted to use my longtime favourite [name_u]Hero[/name_u] It would be my last chance and I’ve loved it for so long. Although it’s brave I think the naming climate is now such that it’s wearable.
[name_u]Hero[/name_u] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] has been my combo for years but I’m tempted to switch it up lately. I think [name_u]Hero[/name_u] needs a grounding middle so maybe something like [name_u]Hero[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_u]Hero[/name_u] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f], [name_u]Hero[/name_u] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] or [name_u]Hero[/name_u] [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] (a favourite of DH’s despite the double O).
Other girl names I adore for a fantasy #5 include [name_f]Vita[/name_f], [name_u]Caro[/name_u], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Ines[/name_f].
So I do not want any more children then two (I have one currently) yes as a name nerd I play around with the idea of a sibling set featuring three children but reality is I wouldn’t want anymore than two. Kids are hard work
The second child most likely would be [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (pronounce KLAA RA) [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] Otema or [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u] Otim depending on of course if they were a boy or a girl.
If we were to go on to have three children (this will just not happen) I think currently they would be [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Lalela or [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] Lockhart Erifasi.
I’ve also had a soft spot for [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] I think she’s really beautiful I also love the meaning wisdom I had the combination [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] for a long time! However when [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] was suggested by a berry I just fell in love as I’m really into themes so the idea of [name_f]Lilia[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] & [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] seemed perfect. They are all 5 letters, ending in the letter ‘a’ and feel very European chic. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is both mine & my mums middle name but is a family name that runs through the generations on my family tree. I also love [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! Lalela is my OH Grandma’s middle name and would honour her Ugandan heritage.
I’ve also always loved [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] I think he’s so handsome, feels strong and plays homage to my Jewish ancestry. [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] is gorgeous and liked by OH! Lockhart is a family surname that I adore. Erifasi is my OH Grandfather’s name he was the [name_m]President[/name_m] of Uganda for a period of time and tried to restore peace in a troubled land. He was a very hard working peace activist until he passed away so definitely a man worth honouring.
Interesting question and I’m also glad @katinka answered!
We have already three and are not planning on having any more, at least for now, but i play around a lot with potential baby sibling names.
Our kids are [name_m]Halil[/name_m] [name_f]Anel[/name_f], [name_f]Nala[/name_f] Ilea & Lijan [name_u]Noah[/name_u].
(DH is bosnian, so each one as one slavic name)
For another girl we both love [name_f]Nami[/name_f] as a middle name and for the first name i have four names I really love.
Amajlija - means lucky charm which i think is super cute and Amajlija [name_f]Nami[/name_f] is one of my favorite combo’s.
Aalijah - this is DH favorite, he already really liked it by our daughter, but I was to this time not really sure of it.
Luela - one of my all time favorites.
[name_f]Devina[/name_f] - we both really like it a long long time, but something always felt off.
For a boy we both love [name_u]Edin[/name_u] as a first name and for the middle names i don’t really know (boy’s names are so hard to find ) but I think I would pressure Dzenan or [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] (but I’m not so sure about the same first letter for fn and mn).
Wow - [name_f]Lilia[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] ,and [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] are European chic! Fantastic trio.
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] with [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] also sound really cool and chic - like they just casually vacation in Europe
We have currently one child and wait a little to decide whether we would be able to handle a second one
Our son is [name_m]Bastien[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. If we had a second son, his name would probably be [name_m]Mathias[/name_m] [name_u]Leo[/name_u] (Leo is a new love, but it doesn’t work as well as [name_m]Mathias[/name_m] with our last name, so it would be our chance to use it anyway). For a girl, it would probably be [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], even though [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] are strong contenders too.
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] & [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] would be perfection together - but like you said, they are hard work those little cuties
@Camelia honestly the cute factor is high but they are very demanding little humans! Thank you for the positivity regarding [name_f]Lilia[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] & [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] I have to say your sons name is perfection and I absolutely love [name_m]Mathias[/name_m] [name_u]Leo[/name_u] & [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
