If you had to name your child after a tree, what would you name them?

Title says it all!
I would say…
Girl:
[name_u]Cedar[/name_u]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u]
[name_u]Willow[/name_u]

Boy:
[name_u]Ash[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u]

Bay for a boy

Olive for a girl

I also love [name_u]Ash[/name_u] for a boy and [name_u]Elm[/name_u] for a girl!

I’m only listing the ones I’m planning on using, mostly as middle names, but many could move to FN position. I have a few that could easily slot in with these.

Girl: Älᴀnï, [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_u]Rio[/name_u], [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] / [name_f]Ilana[/name_f] / [name_f]Nara[/name_f], Teak (nn)

Boy: [name_m]Oren[/name_m], [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u], [name_u]Bay[/name_u], [name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_m]Koa[/name_m]

Ash and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] are both on my list for boys! I also enjoy [name_u]Alder[/name_u] and [name_u]Cedar[/name_u].

For girls I love [name_u]Aspen[/name_u], [name_u]Linden[/name_u], [name_u]Sequoia[/name_u]/Sequoyah, [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] (if it counts).

If I had to name one boy and one girl though:

Aspen [name_f]Roisin[/name_f]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_m]Alasdair[/name_m]

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u], I think.

ETA: Does Magnolia count as a tree name

If I had to choose FNs of my tree names, I would go with Älᴀnï & [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] or [name_u]Rio[/name_u] for girls and [name_m]Oren[/name_m] or [name_u]Kai[/name_u] & [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u] for boys.

If [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] counts for a girl, then that. If that’s cheating I might go for [name_f]Aveline[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], or [name_f]Derowen[/name_f]. If it has to be an [name_f]English[/name_f] word name, I’m not sure what I would end up with. I also love [name_m]Gwydion[/name_m] for a boy!

In my opinion, [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] counts. I thought about that one too.

I love all the names mentioned here honestly!
But my top choices would be…

Linden or [name_f]Tammi[/name_f] (Finnish for [name_u]Oak[/name_u] :deciduous_tree:) for a boy

Willow or [name_f]Pinja[/name_f] (Finnish for [name_m]Stone[/name_m] pine :evergreen_tree:) for a girl

For boys, [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], and I could definitely see myself actually using it. For girls, if I had to, probably [name_u]Willow[/name_u]. I like [name_u]Willow[/name_u] but I probably wouldn’t actually use it myself.

For a girl [name_u]Willow[/name_u].
For a boy [name_u]Ash[/name_u].
And we’ll throw in [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] as a unisex option.

I heard of someone who named their son [name_m]Cyprus[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], which I thought was strong and stunning.
