…[name]Vanessa[/name], what would you think?
I posted earlier asking about favorite V names and [name]Vanessa[/name] was not a popular response, however it is definitely my favorite V name. I tend to like more modern classic / classic names. The other V names, although very pretty, do remind me of old women to some extent. I just can’t get on board with the old grandma names.
[name]Even[/name] though I love [name]Vanessa[/name], I don’t hear it very often these days on babies. Should I consider this a good thing? I’m so confused! I don’t want to wind up with baby naming remorse, but I need to decide soon as my due date is approaching quickly. Help!
I’m surprised at [name]Vanessa[/name]'s continuing popularity (#118 in 2011) because the name sounds very dated to me. Straight out of the 80s. I also dislike that it has no history to it, as it’s an invented name.
That said, I do know a [name]Vanessa[/name] and the name suits her well. She goes by Ness or [name]Nessa[/name] among friends, which I think is very sweet.
[name]Do[/name] you have any other favorites names that we could give feedback on?
I also love [name]Vanessa[/name]! i commented on that post and i didnt even think of [name]Vanessa[/name]! Dumb moment there…
It makes me think of butterflies
I think it is very wearable and pretty, i was considering it but it rhymes to much with my angel baby’s name [name]Tessa[/name]
I am not too fussed about names having extensive history etc, i dont really care about everyone else who had the name i care about MY kid who has the name! That being said a cool legend or myth or literary something is always a nice bonus but not something i really think of first (or second or third!)
the fact that you seem quite unsure about the name though might mean its just not the one, personally i love it but this is YOUR baby and you want to be sure about the name.
[name]Vanessa[/name] is very pretty, I know one and she’s lovely. It’s not my favourite V-name, but I do like it.
I think [name]Vanessa[/name] is very pretty. I had a cheerleading coach in grade school who was named [name]Vanessa[/name]. We all called her [name]Vanni[/name].
Personally I don’t get the whole “dated” concept. My twin sisters name is [name]Michelle[/name], she’s 17. It’s considered dated for her age, but she doesn’t see any problem with it. Yes every [name]Michelle[/name] she meets is 25 or older, but the way I look at it is, she has a name no one misspells or mispronounces, and she’s only ever gone to school with one other [name]Michelle[/name], two years older.
I think nice the name belongs to a baby, it feels like it suits a baby again. I could NEVER picture a baby [name]Pearl[/name] or [name]Esther[/name] until I met ones, and I think it suits them so well now. I think it’s a blessing the name you like isn’t popular. [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Victoria[/name] are probably the most popular V names, but is rather a [name]Vanessa[/name]. I think it’s a pretty name which ages well and easily spelt and pronounced.
[name]Nessa[/name] I love, [name]Vanna[/name] I hate. [name]Vanessa[/name], meh, don’t hate or love.
I think it’s nice, but [name]Nessa[/name] makes it better.
I’ve met baby Vanessas here in [name]Brooklyn[/name]. It’s ok. Not my favorite but nice enough.
Gorgeous! I love the name [name]Vanessa[/name], it’s so pretty, girly, and means ‘butterfly’. I would say ‘your baby has such a lovely name!’
If I met a baby with the name [name]Vanessa[/name], I would think it was sooo cute! It’s weird to hear that name on babies but I do think it can suit a baby, and also an adult! I really like the nn [name]Nessa[/name]/[name]Nessie[/name]
I think [name]Vanessa[/name] would be refreshing to see on a baby. I also love [name]Vanna[/name]. While some see it as a run off the more popular [name]Savannah[/name], I see it as a way to jazz up [name]Anna[/name].
Objectively, I enjoy the momentum of [name]Vanessa[/name], with those two Ss. It’s got nice forward movement, like [name]Giovanna[/name].
Personally, I associate it with princessy, prissy girls.
