If you named yourself

If you named yourself, what would you want to be? I would name myself [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I feel like a [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and I think I look like a [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is so classic, and timeless, and perfect. I would be [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f]. You can change just one, or both.

I would be [name_u]Fable[/name_u] [name_u]Scottie[/name_u]. I know [name_u]Scottie[/name_u] is a bit ridiculous, but it’s what everybody called me as a child, and I love how it ties to [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m].

I’m not sure why, but the name that comes to mind is [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is my current middle name, and while I don’t exactly love it, it has a long family history that I wouldn’t really wanna give up. As for [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], I’m not really sure why but it just sort of feels right. Haha

Anything that everyone knows how to spell. (Thanks Mom)

Oh this is hard! If I wanted to stick close to my current name I think I would go with [name_u]Laine[/name_u] and give myself an elaborate middle name. But honestly I think I most identify with names like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], and [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I would still add something fun in the middle like Evergreen, [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], or [name_f]Soleil[/name_f].

I can’t really imagine being called anything that isn’t my name, but [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] [name_f]Athena[/name_f] is my alter ego/really cool/awesome version of me I often daydream about, so I’d probably go for that plus another middle. Not that I’m anything like that description in real life haha. For a second middle I’m liking [name_f]Nyla[/name_f] right now. My mum said she’d name a daughter after a friend with the name, then didn’t.

I have zero connection to my name—being told it wasn’t really mine and all that—so I think about this a lot. I’ve considered changing it for years and I think I’d make a good [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], nn [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. It’s one of those any-woman types of names.

I would probably change my name to [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. Not that I particularly love the name [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] but I think it suits me.

[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] something, I think. I’ve tried out [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and resonate with it quite well (back when I was considering changing my name), and since then I’ve come across [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and love it for me.

In a way, I actually did pick out my name (long story!), but I’m not a huge fan of it today, and wish I had something a bit less dated and a bit more feminine (I dislike sharing a name with my uncle’s brother!).

I could totally be an [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], though! Other names that I thought might suit me include [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]/[name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Amelia[/name_f], and [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

I’d probably go for [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] (my parents’ runner-up for me), [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (my grandma’s middle), or [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Karen[/name_f] (my mom’s first) in full. I love that my mom was named after my grandma, and wish my mom would have continued that on to me. I’m not a massive [name_f]Karen[/name_f] fan, but I would have loved to be named after my mom.

I already sort of name myself [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. I always like my real name just fine, but back then I wanted something different (but still related) for an internet pseudo and I looked through a list of moon-related names. I chose [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and somehow it sticks. It suits me really well and many of my friends actually still call me that. I answer to both [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] (my birth name) automatically now.

For a full name I like [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] for me. Or [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] (second middle name).

I’ve used names like [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] and [name_f]Katja[/name_f] for gaming, so I’d be fine with those. However, I think if I had to change my name I’d want it to be something that would work internationally and have few spelling problems, something like [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] or [name_f]Laura[/name_f].

My mum gave me a Celtic girl name that no one in the country I was born in knew how to spell or pronounce. And to top it off, she gave my name a completely unrelated pronunciation - one that, unfortunately for me, sounds exactly like a common and well-known boy name. So, from around about the age of 10, I really started to resent my name, and hated the fact that my mum didn’t want to acknowledge my feelings. It was also quite frustrating to learn that there was no great reason for her to saddle me with the choice. She just “liked the name”, and that was the only thing she could say in its defense, even when I came back from school crying, because my classmates had been making fun of it.

I don’t hate my name, but to this day I still dislike it. And if I were to change it, I’d like like to go by something that is easy to pronounce and utterly, unmistakably feminine. If popularity wasn’t an issue, I would definitely want to name myself [name_f]Dolly[/name_f].

I would probably name myself something like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] - I’ve always felt that I looked like a [name_f]Claire[/name_f], and I’m not sure why. I also like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - I think anything soft, feminine and classic would probably work for me.

I’ve used [name_f]Ala[/name_f]ïs for quite a few years in various places online. It was used in a couple of books that I really love, although w/o the umlaut. From what I’ve been able to determine, it’s the Provencal version of [name_f]Alice[/name_f] & is pronounced [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-La-EESS, but before I knew how it was pronounced I came up w/[name_m]Ah[/name_m]-[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-iss as my own pronunciation.

If I had to pick right now, I’d go with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. It works well enough in most languages and I love how simple yet sophisticated it is; [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f] & [name_f]Nora[/name_f] would also give me nickname choices.
If I only had to worry about the English language, I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would suit me well.

[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] is my favorite name and I would love to wear it. However, I’m not sure it suits me much if any better than the name I already have!

I can see myself best as [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_u]Sky[/name_u] (sometimes nn [name_f]Lena[/name_f]) or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. Something classic, sophisticated, and not too frilly.

In elementary/middle school I wanted to rename myself [name_f]Maven[/name_f], and before that [name_f]Maya[/name_f], just because I liked the way they sounded.

I would go for a name that didn’t have so many spelling variations and to have one of the least common spellings at that.

I like names like [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] . I would choose something along those lines .

I love my name ([name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]) and I honestly wouldn’t change it.

This. If I had to change it, I would change it to something international and easy to spell e.g. [name_f]Luna[/name_f].

I think I would have liked to be a [name_f]Flora[/name_f] or [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]. I don’t know exactly why, I just have loved them for years but never felt like bestowing them to daughters, because they feel like they are mine lol. Maybe past lives?
