If you were going to use a virtue name, which would it be?

Specifically I would like Ideas with [name]Olivia[/name]…
So far my favorite would be [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Joy[/name], but hubby has mentioned [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Hope[/name]. Thoughts? Ideas?
Thanks

[name]Olivia[/name] [name]Joy[/name] is too cute! Does that mean you’re not using [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Joy[/name] anymore?

[name]Verity[/name] and [name]Mercy[/name] are probably my favorite virtue names, and, well, [name]Grace[/name]. I’m most likely to use [name]Grace[/name], since it’s my grandmother’s MN, but [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] seems a bit predictable (albeit lovely!). I had actually considered [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Mercy[/name] when I first added [name]Olivia[/name] to my list, so I really like that. After [name]Grace[/name], [name]Verity[/name] is my favorite virtue name, but I’m not sure about [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Verity[/name]. It’s a little “V” heavy, but still very pretty!

I also like [name]Felicity[/name], but not as much as [name]Verity[/name], [name]Grace[/name], and [name]Mercy[/name]…

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Nadia[/name], too, actually, but I’m not sure if it “counts” since it means hope, and isn’t just [name]Hope[/name], literally. And [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Nadia[/name] doesn’t exactly sound that great… [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Hope[/name] is pretty, though.

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Ash[/name]!!
Well, not really… just still keeping options open! Only 4 weeks to go, so soon, baby girl will have a forever name
Another one that came to mind was [name]Maeve[/name]… I know it isn’t really a virtue name, but I find it so pretty! [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Love[/name], [name]Love[/name] [name]Grace[/name]!! I have an [name]Emma[/name] [name]Grace[/name]

I also really love the sound of [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Maeve[/name], lol! I know completely off topic… but tis the reason I am still posting

I really like [name]Joy[/name], but [name]Hope[/name] is nice too. I’d definitely consider using [name]Joy[/name], we have already used [name]Grace[/name] in a middle spot (as a 2nd middle) though I would have preferred [name]Faith[/name], dh didn’t think much of it in combination with the other 2 names we’d picked (there were a lot of F’s and F sounds!)

I still really like [name]Faith[/name] and we may use it in the middle for daughter no.3 due in a few weeks.

You could go with [name]Joyce[/name] though I like [name]Joy[/name] in it’s own right
[name]Honor[/name] and [name]Verity[/name] are also lovely

I see.

I guess that would make [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] unusable to you! haha. I’m not a huge fan of [name]Maeve[/name] personally–it just doesn’t strike my fancy, I suppose. I’ve tried for YEARS to get behind it since my other grandmother’s mn is [name]Mae[/name], but, well, I still don’t love it. [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] and [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] are cute, though!

I also have a huge GP thing for Rejoice and Humility, from books I read when I was a teenager, haha. I’m not sure how usable they are, though, even in the MN spot! [name]Olivia[/name] Rejoice? [name]Olivia[/name] Humility? Sounds like something from the pilgrim days, haha.

[name]Faith[/name] is my favourite one-syllable one.

Of the multi-syllable ones I like [name]Amity[/name], [name]Verity[/name], and [name]Prudence[/name].

Of one syllable names that I like that aren’t really virtue names but I love them: I also love [name]Maeve[/name], even more than I like [name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name], which is also cute. I love [name]Fern[/name], lacy and green and understated, but maybe not so good with [name]Olivia[/name]? And [name]Blythe[/name] is similar in meaning to [name]Joy[/name] but a bit softer sounding. I love [name]Dove[/name] normally but [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Dove[/name] is a little TOO much imagery though poetic.

I prefer [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Joy[/name] over [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Hope[/name]. I also like the fact that you have the virtue name as the middle. I’m not a huge fan of virtue names. What if the child ends up being opposite the virtue? For example, I once knew a [name]Joy[/name] who was the most depressed person I’ve ever met in my life.

[name]Verity[/name], maybe (but more for the nickname [name]Vera[/name]) or [name]Blythe[/name].

My favorite virtue name is [name]Felicity[/name]. However, that doesn’t help you. [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Felicity[/name] doesn’t sound right.
Some virtue names and names with cheerful meanings that might work for you:
[name]Patience[/name]
[name]Pleasant[/name]
[name]Prudence[/name]
[name]Promise[/name]
[name]Honor[/name] or [name]Honoria[/name] “woman of honor”
[name]True[/name]
[name]Temperance[/name]
[name]Constance[/name]
[name]Bliss[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Pax[/name] and [name]Paz[/name] mean peace, and so does [name]Irene[/name]
[name]Merry[/name]

[name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Adelind[/name], [name]Adele[/name] “noble woman”
[name]Freya[/name] also means “a noble woman”
[name]Evangeline[/name] “bearer of good news”
[name]Beatrice[/name] “blessed, she who brings happiness”
[name]Victoria[/name] “victory”
[name]Gwyneth[/name] “blessed, happy”
[name]Carys[/name] “love”
[name]Enid[/name] “life, spirit”
[name]Auden[/name] “old friend”
[name]Bellamy[/name] “fine friend”
[name]Hillary[/name] or [name]Ilaria[/name] “happy, cheerful”
[name]Haven[/name] or [name]Heaven[/name]?

My pick: [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Merry[/name] or [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Haven[/name]

[name]Maeve[/name] is pretty sounding but have you checked it’s meaning? It’s either very sensuous or very alcoholic… not sure which.

I really like [name]Olivia[/name] (or [name]Susannah[/name]) [name]Joy[/name]. [name]Even[/name] if the baby is not a joyful person, as a pp mentioned, babies always bring joy… so it’s appropriate. The same could be said for [name]Hope[/name]. I think I prefer [name]Joy[/name] though, we’re considering it for our LO (due in [name]September[/name]) if she’s a girl.

I like virtue names too. [name]Joy[/name] is my middle name & [name]Grace[/name] is my daughter’s middle name. I have niece named [name]Faith[/name]. I was looking at [name]Love[/name] for a middle name for new daughter, but hubby said no to that one. [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Joy[/name] flows nicely. [name]Will[/name] the initials work with your last name?

[name]Joy[/name] is my favorite! [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Joy[/name] sounds so complete, as does [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Joy[/name].

[name]Verity[/name] is my favourite virtue name, followed by [name]Joy[/name]

My favourite virtue names are [name]Verity[/name] and [name]Amity[/name]. I’m not sure how I feel about them with [name]Olivia[/name], though. Sorry, I’m no help at all!

My favourites are [name]Constant[/name], [name]Comfort[/name], Solace, and [name]Amity[/name]. I prefer [name]Merce[/name] (the Catalan version of [name]Mercy[/name]/[name]Grace[/name]).

I think [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Constance[/name] or [name]Olivia[/name] Solace are beautiful. There’s always my family’s favourite, Hopestill, as well. (If you look up my genealogy blog.)

[name]Olivia[/name] [name]Hope[/name] is nice, I’m not a fan of the name [name]Joy[/name].

[name]Olivia[/name] [name]Serenity[/name] is nice too. I really am a fan of the name [name]Serenity[/name] in the middle spot.
[name]Olivia[/name] [name]Patience[/name] is another idea.

[name]Grace[/name] but seems you have that one already
[name]Hope[/name] is my second favorite

I love [name]Honor[/name], it’s probably my favorite. I also really like [name]Grace[/name], only with the nn [name]Gracie[/name], [name]Amity[/name], and [name]Felicity[/name]. [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Amity[/name] has a cute little poetic rhythm to it, I think. [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Hope[/name] sounds really nice!

I would probably have to say [name]Felicity[/name], or maybe [name]Verity[/name] or [name]Blythe[/name] for a middle name.
Other virtue names I like:
[name]Amity[/name]
[name]Charity[/name]
[name]Clarity[/name]
[name]Constance[/name] (has grown on me since I recently read The [name]Nanny[/name] Diaries)
[name]Grace[/name] (though it’s a bit overused)
[name]Honor[/name]
Merit (more for a boy)
[name]Noble[/name] (this one for a boy as well)
[name]True[/name]
