Anyone else’s parents have strong opinions about names? After my [name_u]Nana[/name_u] expressed her dislike for my and my middle sister’s names, my mom has promised not to say anything negative about any of her future grandchildren’s names. But that hasn’t stopped her from giving suggestions!
If my mom named my future kids, she’d probably pick [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] for a girl and [name_m]Byron[/name_m] for a boy.
What names would your parents pick for their grandchildren?
[name_f]My[/name_f] mom is a late bloomer in the name department… I think she would pick [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] for a girl and [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] for a boy. Though she recently said she would want to rename herself [name_u]Tempest[/name_u] so that might get thrown in there too. (she doesn’t know but I’ve had B, E, and sometimes T on my list as pseudo honor names for her🤫)
Not sure about my dad’s favourite names. Although he used to like the name Ahsen before I was born.

Random fact: I remember my mum mentioning [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is such a bad name, and that’s what I want to name my daughter!

If they had to choose from any of my UC [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] would probably be my moms choice (it’s the name of her grandma) for a girl and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] for a boy. [name_f]My[/name_f] dad I think would choose maybe [name_m]Osiris[/name_m] or [name_m]Judah[/name_m] for boys and [name_f]Azula[/name_f] or [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] for girls (he likes Z names). They say if they had another kid and it was a boy, they’d name him [name_m]Zander[/name_m]/Xander.
They wouldn’t be the type to veto every single name just cause they don’t like it, but I know my parents like more modern names ([name_m]Ean[/name_m], [name_u]Kade[/name_u], [name_m]Xander[/name_m], [name_u]Griffin[/name_u], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], [name_u]Genesis[/name_u], [name_u]Emery[/name_u]), so even though my siblings and I have quite uncommon names, my names might be a tad too out there. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom definitely doesn’t like [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] though but I don’t really care and I’m still gonna use it if I get the chance 
If it was up to my mum, I imagine I’d have a [name_m]Torin[/name_m] and an [name_f]Aurembiaix[/name_f]… not so far off!

I have no idea what my dad would say. For a boy, I think my mom would choose [name_m]Jack[/name_m]? That’s what she would have used if she’d had another boy. It’s not my top name, but I’d be happy with it!
For girls, I have pretty similar taste as my mom, lol. I think she’d choose [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], either of which I’d be happy with (though I’d prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]).
Hmm, I don’t know what my mom would choose from my UC! I think she’d like [name_u]Nico[/name_u] or [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] for boys (because she’s familiar with PJO and [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars, even though I didn’t get [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] from a character). For girls, my guess would be [name_u]Holland[/name_u] or [name_f]Amaia[/name_f], after I tell her the origin of [name_f]Amaia[/name_f]!

She likes [name_m]Zack[/name_m] for a boy, I like [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] but not [name_m]Zack[/name_m] on it’s own
My dad would probably say something like “I don’t care. Name them whatever you like as long as it’s not a religious or biblical name”. I can remember years ago when my sister said she liked the name [name_u]Jonah[/name_u], my dad told her she couldn’t name her (non-existent) child that.
My mum would probably choose classic and common names like [name_u]Harry[/name_u] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. This is based on the suggestions she gave when I was naming [name_m]Mylo[/name_m] (a name she did not like but has come around to now).
My mom would definitely pick classic traditional names. Her favourite is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] dad doesn’t care about names at all.

My mom only had me and my older brother. He has 3 daughters. The last girl was going to have a middle name to honor my mom, but they changed their mind. She’s still pissed about it and the child is 4 years old.
So that basically leaves me forced to have a child with an honor name for her.
But it’s not really “forced” since it’s what I want too. I love my mom, even if she drives me nuts most of the time

I have only spoken about names properly with my parents since finding out that I’m having a baby girl so I only know about girl names.
My dad suggestions are just so random and jokey nothing serious he said that I should name the baby [name_f]Darlene[/name_f] after [name_f]Darlene[/name_f] from Ozark honestly he’s such a weirdo he also said [name_f]Darlene[/name_f] Ramage has a certain ring to it so yes great suggestion from dad there.
Definitely going to name my baby after the violent criminal on ozark! 
My mum loves [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] which is the name my daughter will be named but I think it was fully up to her she would name my daughter [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] after my paternal grandma who she loved dearly. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] will be one of her middle names.
My mom told me she’d name a girl [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] and a boy [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]. Both of these are on my middle name list so I guess she’s lucky
