I’ve seen these names floating around and I like them but I’m not sure how much. What are your opinions? Mn will most likely be [name_u]Jean[/name_u] or [name_u]Jean[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] if it’s a shorter first name.
My favourites are as follows,
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps,
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] – hate it because of a woman I knew with it was a terrible person
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] – overdone
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u] – Very boring
[name_f]Leona[/name_f] – I really like it (but I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Leontine[/name_f])
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] – It’s sweet but it’s a Meh name
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]/[name_f]Eveline[/name_f] – I really like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. It’s sweet and classic and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is spunky
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f] – [name_f]Love[/name_f] it as a nickname
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] – I have a weird hate for this name and I don’t know why
[name_f]Deirdre[/name_f] – It’s one I’m more Meh about. I don’t love it or hate it. It’s just nice
[name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] – [name_f]Love[/name_f] it! [name_f]Love[/name_f] the nickname [name_f]Fay[/name_f] for it
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]/[name_f]Marlo[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] but on a boy because it reminds me of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] – I love it a lot pronounce vi-oh-lah (vi like high)
[name_u]Fallon[/name_u] – I’m sure this is supposed to be fay-lon but I see Fallin’
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] – [name_f]Love[/name_f] it. Very sweet and fierce at once
I actually like [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], even though it is out of style. Wow, backhanded compliment there—but I mean it quite literally, as in it sounds cute and I know a gorgeous, intelligent woman with this name…but the name peaked in (US) popularity in 1996 and in a downward tailspin of usage. The other names don’t interest me. (not terrible but NMS)
[name_f]Audra[/name_f]- I much prefer [name_f]Audrey[/name_f].
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]- I like it. Simple yet elegant. I prefer it in the middle.
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]- I really don’t care for this name. [name_f]Kinda[/name_f] dull, feels trendy.
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]- Neutral. [name_f]Leora[/name_f] is prettier.
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]- Pronounced Lie-luh or Lill-luh? I like the former pronunciation, and I’d spell it “[name_f]Lilah[/name_f].”
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]/[name_f]Eveline[/name_f]- Feels trendy. I prefer [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]- Maybe it’d be cute as a nickname, but even then I don’t love it, and I really dislike it as a first name.
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]- I don’t really like this name. It’s perfectly fine, just not my cup of tea.
[name_f]Deirdre[/name_f]- Bad personal association ruins this name for me.
[name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]- [name_f]LOVE[/name_f]. Especially with the nickname [name_f]Faye[/name_f].
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]/[name_f]Marlo[/name_f]- I admit, the nickname [name_u]Marley[/name_u] is a guilty pleasure of mine, but I don’t like [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u].
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]- I want to like this name, but I can’t. I prefer [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
[name_u]Fallon[/name_u]- For a girl? Maybe I could picture this on a boy, but not on a girl.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]- I like this name a lot. It feels so strong to me, like a badass woman hunting bears in a blizzard (I’m tired ok)

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] - I really like [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

[name_f]Lila[/name_f] - I do not care for [name_f]Lila[/name_f] but I love [name_f]Lilia[/name_f].
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]/[name_f]Eveline[/name_f] - I really like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] but unsure if I feel it works as a full name or not.
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] - I know [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] is not well liked on NB but I really like it.
[name_f]Deirdre[/name_f] - I do not care for [name_f]Deirdre[/name_f].
[name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] - I do not care for [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f].
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]/[name_f]Marlo[/name_f] - I really like [name_f]Marlo[/name_f]/[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]. I prefer the [name_f]Marlo[/name_f] spelling.
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] - I do not care for [name_f]Viola[/name_f].
[name_u]Fallon[/name_u] - I do not care for [name_u]Fallon[/name_u].
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - I do not care for [name_f]Freya[/name_f].
I like [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u], [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], [name_f]Leona[/name_f] (how about [name_f]Leora[/name_f]? I much prefer this). [name_f]Audra[/name_f] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]/[name_f]Eveline[/name_f] are ok too.
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] - I like it a lot more than I like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], but I hate [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] so yeah. It’s pleasant. I think I like something like [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] more?
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f]
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u] - '80s to me. Not in the cute way.
[name_f]Leona[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] this and also [name_f]Leora[/name_f]. Great melodic sound.
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f].
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]/[name_f]Eveline[/name_f] - Ok.
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f] - [name_f]Kinda[/name_f] cute, but I don’t think it sounds like a formal name and I can’t think of anything attractive it could be short for since I don’t like [name_f]Harriet[/name_f].
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] - Noooo.
[name_f]Deirdre[/name_f] - Yes!
[name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] - Yes!
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]/[name_f]Marlo[/name_f] - Nooooo.
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] - I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_f]Viola[/name_f], have for years.
[name_u]Fallon[/name_u] - No.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - It’s okay. I like similar names like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] or [name_f]Katia[/name_f] more.
[name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] is my daughter’s name (nn Phae) and I have not a shred of regret. I have loved that name since I was 12 years old and I waited 23 years to use it. It’s a dream.
I’m kind obsessed with [name_m]German[/name_m]/Scandinavian type names lately but feel a lot of them might be too harsh or unrealistic for an American kid. Opinions on using a name that’s common in another country?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think I could get away with:
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Brigitte[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
