If I said “my baby’s name is pronounced ‘sih-ren’ (si as in sit),” would you like it?
As a side note, I’m thinking of spelling it as ‘cyren’, but a lot of people are pronouncing it siren (like alarm or those mythical creatures)
I would pronounce Cyren like Siren. And honestly I don’t like how it would sound even saying it like ‘si’ in sit.
I think what you’re going for is akin to [name_u]Seren[/name_u] but with a different spelling? I’ve never been much of a fan of that name. For me, the less conventional spelling you’re proposing doesn’t make me like it more. It’s just not my style.
Like Surren? I struggle to say it out loud. The sounds are too short together. Not really my style.
When I read your post my first thought was of the word “syringe”. Cyren has a “y” in it so the “siren” pronunciation is pretty intuitive for most English speakers. I think your daughter would have to spell and pronounce her name all her lifetime.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] reminding you that [name_u]Seren[/name_u] sounds nearly identical to sarin as in sarin gas, a form of chemical warfare.
I like [name_u]Seren[/name_u] (SEH-ren) but SIH-ren just sounds a bit awkward to my ears, it’s the short IH sound that just doesn’t sit right for some reason. Cyren I would pronounce as [name_m]SY[/name_m]-ren (Siren) if I saw it on paper.
I like it, but yeah, it won’t fly with that spelling, I don’t think.
Side note, a sirin is a cool figure in Russian mythology, though usually pronounce “seerin.”
It think if you spelt it Cyren, people will always pronounce it ‘siren’. The only phonetic spelling I can think of is Sirren, which almost looks Middle-Eastern. I like how it sounds, though; too bad it doesn’t seem to be legit : (
I feel like I don’t like it enough to truly LIKE it, if that makes sense. I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_u]Seren[/name_u] (seh-ren I think is the proper Welsh pronunciation? I think most Americans just say SARE-en, though) and [name_f]Serena[/name_f], but sih-ren is hard to wrap your mind (and tongue!) around and I just find [name_u]Seren[/name_u] easier (and sweeter, and more fun, and I just like the sound more). [name_u]Seren[/name_u] gets a thumbs-up from me–sih-ren wouldn’t. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if I found out it was a legitimate name (because so far, it doesn’t sound like it is).

There is an Iranian name [name_f]Shirin[/name_f] and if I heard it I would think it was a variant of that. Maybe you should use [name_f]Shirin[/name_f]?
If I heard you introduce your daughter, I would probably think her name was [name_u]Seren[/name_u], which I don’t dislike. For some reason it looks rather masculine to me, maybe because of today’s many Aidens, etc.
Your pronunciation also made me think of [name_m]Cyril[/name_m], which is usually pronounced SEE-ril or SIH-ril, as far as I know. So, between those two things, it sounds a lot like a boy’s name to me.
If I heard it, I would assume it was [name_u]Seren[/name_u] (or maybe spelled Sarren? Sirren?) I don’t mind it on someone else’s baby, I think it’s unique and interesting, but it isn’t really my style. If I saw it spelled Cyren, I would assume it was someone trying to make a mermaid reference and change the spelling to be cool, but I’d probably also think of sirens, like alarms. Not a fan of the spelling. I would go with [name_u]Seren[/name_u], it has a lovely meaning. You could also use [name_u]Sorrel[/name_u], [name_f]Wren[/name_f], or [name_f]Sirena[/name_f]/[name_f]Serena[/name_f] for similar sounds.
At first I thought you were going for Siren until I read the whole thing. I think [name_u]Seren[/name_u] is your best bet to keep away from Siren, but it is still a legit name. Unless [name_f]Cyra[/name_f] is more to your liking. As it is, sih-ren, I don’t like it.

I would mispronounce Sarin or Siren too. If you were after similiar names, [name_f]Shiri[/name_f]?
I’m gonna assume it’s Siren too. It is nice, but I prefer [name_u]Seren[/name_u], [name_f]Serena[/name_f], Silena, or [name_f]Selena[/name_f].
Sirren for ‘SIH-ren’ because Cyren and Siren are ‘SIGH-ren’.
I’d pick [name_u]Seren[/name_u] over it though.
