Ike

What do you think of the name, [name]Isaac[/name] nn [name]Ike[/name]?

[name]Isaac[/name] happens to be one of my favourite Biblical names for a boy. It’s strong, masculine and full of character. [name]Ike[/name] is a pretty cool nn too which is an added bonus.

I like [name]Isaac[/name], but not [name]Ike[/name]. [name]Isaac[/name] doesn’t need a nickname at all imo.

I love it! I considered it for a while, but our last name starts with a k sound, so it is too much of a tongue twister. I think [name]Ike[/name] is an awesome nn!

I love [name]Isaac[/name]! It’s so sweet and handsome and charming… it just seems perfect to me. I don’t think it really needs a nn–I like it all on its own–but [name]Ike[/name] is funky and vintage, and if you want a nn, I think it works.

Quite like [name]Isaac[/name]; not so much [name]Ike[/name].

Is [name]Isaac[/name] a popular name?

[name]Isaac[/name] ranks at number 35 on the SSA list, and it’s rising. If you’re not in the US, I’m not sure what the rankings are in other countries. [name]Even[/name] though it’s getting popular, though, it still doesn’t feel trendy at all.

[name]Isaac[/name] is my favourite boy’s name and I can’t let it go despite the popularity in the UK! It jumped from #55 to #42 in 2007 and then has stayed pretty steady between #37-42 so although it’s pretty popular here, I don’t expect it to jump significantly anymore but I could be wrong.

I prefer [name]Isaac[/name] without a nickname, it’s pretty short so don’t know why it needs one. I’d probably use [name]Zac[/name] ahead of [name]Ike[/name], which I find a little awkward sounding.

I live in the US, but around Iowa… I have met only met a few Issacs. It doesn’t seem popular in my area

I love it now
