i’m very excited about this!! i absolutely loved your icelandic names thread, so this should be so fun!!
i’ll be praying for a safe delivery for your little one
about me
i would love a feminine name please! i have very curly blonde? brown? hair and hazel eyes, and i’m tall. my interests are names of course, geography, geopolitics, and i’m learning scottish gaelic currently. i looove swimming, especially in cold water and in the ocean. i love the rain and snow and i love going for walks in this sort of weather. i love love flowers.
I am 5’3, brunette and hazel eyes and I wear glasses. I am pretty introverted, a good listener, love to read. I love the beach. I love to dance. And some things i would love to learn to do are snowboarding, play piano and speak fluently in spanish. I also would love to travel more. I am a paralegal but my dream job is a Psychologist
I’m 13, 5’0 and 110 pounds (though I’m not too sure this matters lol), with light brown hair and brown eyes. I have freckles (which I used to hate but have come to semi-like). I am a writer and artist, and I’m turning 14 in [name_u]January[/name_u]! :)))
Glytta - pr. glit-tah, “shining, shimmering”, reminded me of the Icelandic word for jellyfish, marglytta.
Leikný - pr. leyk-nee, combination of leik, “sport, game” and ný “new, fresh”
Drauma - pr. druy-mah, “dream”
I’d prefer a feminine name, please I’m average height, light brown very wavy (borderline curly) hair, I wear glasses, pale skin, & greenish-blue eyes. Definitely very introverted, shy, & quiet. I only wear dresses (expect for my pjs) because I find them more comfortable physically and emotionally for me to wear. I love “accurate” historical dress, cats, learning about physiology & psychology, all different kinds of rock music, especially punk/alt rock, and sitting on the couch & having bonding conversations with people that I click with.
Oh, I love Icelandic names! I’d like a masc/neutral name please (first and 1-2 middles)
I’m 5’8, I have curly reddish-brown hair, grey-blue eyes, bottom-rim-less glasses, and lots of acne. I’m an ambivert leaning introvert, I love to write, crochet, knit, and dance, and my passion is music. I play the fiddle/violin, ukulele, and handbells. I’m also absolutely obsessed with musicals. My favorite is Hadestown
I’d like one! I’d prefer a neutral name (preferably leaning one way or another but doesn’t matter which way)!
Here’s my (not so little) description that I use for all of these types of things at this point
Interest ~ I love history and plan on being a Anthropology major, specializing in archeology. Art, mythology of all types, movies, music (especially rock and rock sub genres, my favs are MCR, DesRocs and Grandson, I also like classical music and musicals), true crime (plus criminology in general)
Hobbies ~ I love art and drawing, especially drawing people. I love doing makeup on myself, I especially like using eyeliner. I’m also a huge movie buff, I’ll watch pretty much anything, whether I like it or not is a different story
Extras ~ I’m Puerto Rican. I love spicy food. I’m the oldest of 3 girls. I have a cat that for some reason I still love even though she’s evil. I hate cold weather
Appearance~ I’m 5’3. I have olive-y toned tanned skin with freckles. I have curly nearly black hair and dark eyes. Most of my wardrobe is black or dark colors, I like to go for a chaotic academia type aesthetic. I also wear a few rings on my hand, most of which are heirlooms
I don’t know much about Wednesday, so I wasn’t sure what to do with it, but I hope this is okay.
Villiljós - pr. vil-lih-lyows. Icelandic word for will-o’-the-wisp, an atmospheric ghost light often seen by travelers
Eníta - pr. eh-nee-tah, Iceland form of Enid
Súla - pr. soo-lah, “northern ganne (bird”
Litríkur - lih-tree-kur, “colorful”. The -ur ending is traditionally male but I thought this one suited you so well, I hope you don’t mind
Ástrún - pr. owst-roon, “magic of love, magical love”
Kristólína - pr. krist-ow-leen, ultimately from Christianus, “a christian”
They are If I make it past 38 weeks this time, which is is a few days, this will be the longest out of any of my pregnancies. My oldest was born at 38 weeks, B. at 35 weeks and the twins at 32+2. I’m glad baby will most likely be full term, of course, but I’m… not used to this?
Thank you, Ró - I love it! Kolfreyja has especially captured my imagination, and it made me look up other names with kol-. That’s such a cool name element (like how lovely are Kolmar and Kolfrid).
oh, i’m so excited about this ró! i find icelandic names so lovely
a little about me 🌼
i am 18 years old, as of may, and a freshman in college studying english and secondary education. i enjoy spending time outdoors, whether i’m hiking, skiing, gardening, or just sitting under a tree playing my guitar. i’m a music enthusiast and i can play just about any instrument i’m handed. i specialize in strings, however, including the violin, banjo, guitar and mandolin. i love folk music! i’m often described as silly, quirky, and maybe slightly ditzy (lovingly). i’m strong-willed and not afraid to speak my mind. my dreams are to move out west in the us, to either montana or idaho, buy a ranch in the middle of the mountains, and homestead with a big family!
This is so fun— all these names are so beautiful!!
I’d like a feminine name with one or two middles if you get the chance
Best wishes for your delivery! So exciting!!
