I'm completely stuck

My husband and I are expecting a baby 9/6. We do not know the gender. We have a 2 year old son named [name]Matteo[/name] and I [name]LOVE[/name] his name. My husband is Puerto Rican and I am Italian I’m having a hard time finding a girl’s name I love and feel like I want to choose something soon. If it’s a boy, we are naming him [name]Isaac[/name] [name]Miguel[/name]. I love the name [name]Miguel[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name] is my husband’s middle name. I am STUCK for girl’s names. My name is [name]Beth[/name] and I’ve always really hated that there are four or five other [name]Beth[/name]'s everywhere I go. I’d like a girl’s name that is easily pronounced and spelled but am trying to avoid something that shoots to the top 25 anytime soon. Some names we liked were [name]Norah[/name] [name]Gabrielle[/name], [name]Norah[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Angelica[/name] [name]Gabrielle[/name]. With [name]Norah[/name], I worry it will wind up being the next [name]Emma[/name]. I really would hate for my child to be [name]Norah[/name] P. in class. With [name]Angelica[/name], I worry that there are too many syllables and that people will start using the nickname [name]Angie[/name] or [name]Angel[/name]. I’d love feedback and other suggestions. Thanks very much.

I love [name]Matteo[/name]! [name]Isaac[/name] is very nice, too. I’m not really a fan of [name]Norah[/name] (and I much prefer [name]Nora[/name]) but it’s okay. I do think it’ll become more popular, though not quite like [name]Emma[/name]. [name]Angelica[/name] kind of reminds me of Rugrats. What about:

[name]Eleanor[/name] (nn [name]Nora[/name])

What about these?

we are in a very similar situation. my husband is spanish and i am italian and we like to find something that is friendly to both but, also here in the US. we are having a baby girl in october and here are some we considered, maybe it will help?

I love [name]Angelica[/name]

[name]Just[/name] thought I’d throw that in there because I know many people won’t! I also love the nn [name]Annie[/name] for it because I’m not a big fan of [name]Angie[/name] either (even though my partner thinks its cute!).

Other Italian/Spanish names I love:

[name]Romina[/name]/[name]Romana[/name] nn [name]Romy[/name]*

I’ve starred my favourites

Good luck!

I love [name]Matteo[/name]!

Here are some names I can see with [name]Matteo[/name]…

[name]Amelie[/name]/[name]Amelia[/name] (Rising up the charts)
[name]Isabella[/name]/[name]Isabel[/name] (Oops, way too popular)
[name]Evelyn[/name] (But beware - becoming very trendy)
[name]Sophia[/name] (Once again, too popular, I know)
[name]Stella[/name] (Also rising)

I prefer [name]Norah[/name] over [name]Angelica[/name], but I think you are right about [name]Norah[/name] becoming more popular. I personally love [name]Matteo[/name] and [name]Francesca[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Grace[/name].

Bounce

What a great list! This covered any suggestions that I would have made… What do you think of [name]Allegra[/name]? It’s very similar to [name]Angelica[/name], but a little softer in my opinion.

What about:

[name]Cara[/name] - It means the same thing in Spanish and Italian (dear/beloved), is short and sweet, easily pronounced, and is not in the top 50. : )

(And I think [name]Cara[/name] [name]Gabrielle[/name] sounds very lovely).

[name]Alma[/name] - another name with the same meaning in Spanish and Italian, along with the other advantages of [name]Cara[/name]. Also similar in style and feeling to [name]Angelica[/name], but without the [name]Angie[/name]/[name]Angel[/name] nn.

[name]Lara[/name] - beautiful name, and multilingual! But likely to get called [name]Laura[/name] a lot.

[name]Isabetta[/name] - an Italian variation of [name]Elizabeth[/name], tying in the [name]Beth[/name] part of your name. Possibly a good middle name, as to not get mixed in with Isabels and Isabellas at school. So uncommon, it’s not even on nameberry, but it is a name. : )

[name]Benedetta[/name] - an unusual but lovely (I think) Italian name with a cute nn of [name]Bennie[/name].

[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

I would have to second [name]Lara[/name]. This is a beautiful name which has a very international sound. It is a region in Spain, widely used in Russian, is soft, melodic and feminine without being frilly.
