I’m looking for baby names that mean unforced, natural, easy…? I’d like to use it as a middle name.
Please help, it’s important to me and I really haven’t been able to find much
(yes, I’ve seen Sulabha. It’s not what I’m looking for)
Update:
Others kinda close to the meaning of it for me are compelled, instinctive, unmediated, flowing, unconstrained (not quite ‘free’ though.), honest/direct, candid even… But still nothing I found.
Names related to comfort and peace have been suggested but they stray too far from the meaning for me.
That is a tricky one. Maybe try a thesaurus to find some other words to search. Like comfort?
Yusra means comfort and ease of life.
[name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] means son of comfort.
It wouldn’t be a name, but you could try translating those words into a few different languages, and see if something comes up that you like the sound of
Oh, I know :c Others kinda close to the meaning for me are compelled, instinctive, unmediated, flowing, unconstrained (not quite ‘free’ though.), honest/direct, candid even… But still nothing I found. Thank you so much for looking for me. Unfortunately ‘peaceful’ is not right either.
Going by those words, the closest you’ll get is [name_f]Honesty[/name_f] itself, I’m afraid. [name_f]Florence[/name_f] means prosperous, but I don’t think that’s what you’re going for either.
Thank you, I appreciate the effort! As silly as it might sound, it relates memoralizing a kiss Beyond that, it’s also because I really appreciate things that are like this, that can just come without trying. That feel so real. One of the best things in the world that’s happened to me, came that way. Which would be the dad. It matters an incredible lot to me really, being able to feel that way. These are the words that feel right to me to relate to those things.
I think part of the problem is that you are looking for a name that will sum up quite a complex idea. Individually the words you have listed for inspiration have different, sometimes almost opposite meanings (compelled and easy for example), but together they form a more complex idea. Finding a name that simply means one of those words will almost certainly miss the mark. The closest words I can think that sum up your meaning is the word flow, which is unconstrained, natural and energetic - compelled if you will by a current, but easy in the sense that it happens spontaneously. I think [name_u]River[/name_u] is a great suggestion, possibly other names that relate to water would fit the bill too. I don’t know if you want male or female names but there are a couple of good lists of female water names here "Water" Names and here Indian names meaning Flow of Water - Names List. One that stands out is [name_f]Cari[/name_f], which apparently means ‘flows like water’ in Turkish, and ‘[name_f]Rea[/name_f]/[name_f]Rhea[/name_f]’ means similar in [name_f]Indian[/name_f].
There aren’t many words in western culture that actually sum up the idea I think you are talking about, but there are some in eastern religions/philosophies. It might be a bit out there for you, but what do you think of ‘Tao’ as a name? Tao means ‘way’, ‘path’ or ‘principle’ and Taoist pinrciples emphasise emphasize ‘Wu-Wei’ (action through non-action), “naturalness”, simplicity, spontaneity. ‘Wei’ in itself might also be a possibility (although I’m not sure if the word lends itself so readily to a name, at least to western ears). I think the meaning of Wu-Wei though is very close to what you are seeking - ‘a state in which our actions are quite effortlessly in alignment with the flow of life’. ‘Doru’ is also Buddhist name that means Flow.
Maybe even [name_f]Florence[/name_f], nickname [name_f]Flo[/name_f], might work for a girl at a push!
