I’ve been stalking you all for a good month now, since we’ve started TTC. So, anyway, our last name is two syllables, starts with a hard C, and ends with -er. I’ve really been liking the boy’s name [name]Baylor[/name], since my SO is such a big fan of the college’s football team, and was wondering if you think it would go with our last name or not?
I am not sure whether you are saying your child may be named something like [name]Baylor[/name] [name]Taylor[/name], and as an Aussie I am not au fait with footie teams in the U.S.
I think I would avoid a football connection unless is was subtle.
If you have a list of names you would like us to critique start another thread listing them.
[name]Hi[/name]! Well I imagined your name as [name]Carter[/name] and I don’t like the way that [name]Baylor[/name] sounds with that. Also, I am a football fan and my husband is an even bigger one but I am not sure that I like naming a kid something because of football is such a good idea. What if he grows up and does not like football? What if he decides one day to go to [name]Texas[/name] Tech someday and not [name]Baylor[/name]? There are just too many things that might make your kid hate his name when he is older. I like the name just by itself but I am not sure it goes with your last name and I don’t really like the reasoning behind wanting to use it. Hopefully this site will be helpful to you though! Its great!
Thanks guys! That’s what I’m here for, I know you berries will keep me from making a huge mistake. hehe I agree with you nlane825. It doesn’t sound too great to me either.
Sadly, I think your last name is [name]Baylor[/name] prohibitive. He will also have a lot of people who will ask him whether he is going to go to [name]Baylor[/name] and that may get annoying, to the point where he may desperately NOT want to go to [name]Baylor[/name].
