I'm pregnant!!!

[name]Just[/name] found out yesterday that I am about 5 weeks. I have long been obssessed with this website and have never felt like I could post or comment because I wasn’t pregnant. But now I am and there is no holding me back. I have one name picked out for each gender and was wanting to know what others’ thoughts were. I also have not shared with my family yet and I am looking for some creative ideas on how to tell them. We all all getting together this weekend for Fathers’ [name]Day[/name] and I plan on telling everyone then… I know its soon, but I have never been good about keeping a secret.

Okay here are the names I am pondering over…
Boy: [name]Sayer[/name] [name]Lloyd[/name]
Girl: Styler [name]Jean[/name] or Styler [name]Ann[/name]

The middle names are family names.

Hmmm… [name]Sayer[/name] and Styler… I prefer [name]Sawyer[/name] for a boy, because it is a little more recognizable but not too trendy yet. Styler, I’m not a huge fan of because I think of Hair Styler. Is it the “[name]St[/name]” sound you are looking for or the “y” or the “ler” sound you are especially fond of with that name? As for the middle names on the girl’s name, I love [name]Jean[/name].

Boy: [name]Sayer[/name] [name]Lloyd[/name] - Like Mamapajama I prefer [name]Sawyer[/name]. [name]Lloyd[/name] is a fun middle name. [name]Love[/name] the two “l’s” together and its Welsh origin. Since you like Styler for a girl, maybe you would like [name]Stellan[/name] for a boy. It’s on the Hipster List. [name]Stellan[/name] [name]Lloyd[/name] sounds cool.

Girl: Styler [name]Jean[/name] or Styler [name]Ann[/name] - I love the names [name]Ann[/name] and [name]Jean[/name] (my cousins’ names) but I don’t care for Styler. But [name]Stella[/name] is very pretty. You must love the letter “S”. I love it, too. Some people say it looks and sounds like a snake. But I love to look at snakes as long as I don’t have to touch them. I think you love the letter “l”, too. What do you think of the name [name]Sylvan[/name] for a girl? That would be different.

Thanks to you both for your input and suggestions!!!
I like the name [name]Sylvan[/name]. I have never heard of that before. I like names that are different obviously.

I’m afraid I know too many people that have named their sons and a daughter [name]Sawyer[/name] lately, so that won’t work for me.

I do love names that begin with S. Or names with a Y in it.

I too thought of a hair styler when I came upon that name. But the more I said it the more I started to like it. It has a sophsticated spunky sound to it. I also like [name]Skylar[/name], but again I have a close friend that used it for little girl last year.

[name]Sayer[/name] [name]Lloyd[/name]: [name]Sayer[/name] looks like a typo of [name]Sawyer[/name] to me…
Styler [name]Jean[/name]: I, too, think of hair styler and [name]Trudy[/name] Styler, Sting’s wife

More unusual names for girls:
[name]Sailor[/name]
[name]Sage[/name]
[name]Sky[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name]
[name]Story[/name] (could be a boy, too)
[name]Scout[/name]
[name]Saffron[/name]
[name]Shea[/name] (boy, too)
[name]Sutton[/name] (boy, too)

Boys (more mainstream):
[name]Samson[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]
[name]Sullivan[/name]
[name]Spencer[/name] (if you’re looking for boys’ names on girls’, [name]Spencer[/name] could work…)
[name]Shepherd[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]

Girls (mainstream):
[name]Sandrine[/name]
[name]Simone[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] (I’d stay away from [name]Sylvan[/name], as it’s the name of [name]Sylvan[/name] Learning Centers)
[name]Sadie[/name]

Good luck!

[name]Sylvie[/name] (I’d stay away from [name]Sylvan[/name], as it’s the name of [name]Sylvan[/name] Learning Centers)

LOL, [name]Jill[/name]!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Jill[/name]'s ideas of [name]Saffron[/name] for a girl and [name]Sullivan[/name] for a boy.

[name]Stella[/name] [name]Jean[/name] would be so cute - just hip enough, but not wacky!

Congratulations!
Styler is really cute but hard to pull off! Perhaps as a middle name would be best? Or even Styla?
I like trendy, unique names too. Especially being a teacher, I love unusual names in kids. I have a [name]Rio[/name], Taiga ([name]Tiger[/name]), [name]Byron[/name], [name]Boston[/name], [name]Jaida[/name] and [name]Pearl[/name] in my kindy class this year!

I love [name]Sullivan[/name] for a boy. I also like [name]Duke[/name], [name]Zephyr[/name], [name]Lennox[/name], [name]Micah[/name] and [name]Justice[/name].
For girls I love [name]Harlow[/name], [name]Sabine[/name], [name]Willow[/name], [name]Anouk[/name], [name]Coco[/name] and [name]Winter[/name].

Have fun with your search… how exciting!

Congratulations!

I like the sound of [name]Sayer[/name] [name]Lloyd[/name], and like a few others, prefer [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Saffron[/name] to Styler (but at least it’s fun to say). I like it combined with [name]Jean[/name], though; you have a knack for the flow of things. I’m fond of S-names, too

how about…instead of buying your dad a “father’s day” card buy one that says something about happy father’s day GRANDPA…everyone will feed off his reaction in NO TIME!

Or, you can buy a picture frame that says something along the lines of “World’s greatest grandparents” and rather than a picture you can write "From [name]Baby[/name] (enter your last name)_ due (enter due date)_

I was going to say something about waiting until “grandparents’ day”…but I guess that’s in [name]September[/name]…That’s kinda far for someone bad at keeping secrets

[name]Love[/name] [name]Rica[/name]'s suggestion of the Father’s [name]Day[/name] card, that would be so cute! When my sister in law announced her pregnancy, she wrote a little poem from the baby to the grandparents about how he’ll be here right before [name]Christmas[/name]. She wrapped it up and gave it to them as an [name]Easter[/name] present, my mother in law started crying and the she read it out loud and it was really, really cute!

I can’t decide if I like Styler or not, I definitely didn’t at first, but it’s growing on me. I love [name]Sailor[/name] and [name]Scout[/name]. And I think [name]Jean[/name] is a great middle.

sayer lloyd: i actually surprised myself by really liking this. i find sayer a lot softer than sawyer, a name i can’t stand.

styler jean: i was trying to picture myself being introduced to someone with this name, and i think i would mishear it as schuyler/skyler/skylar. i don’t think it would age well at all.
i like the suggestions of stella and scout.
also, i think sloane has a similar feel though it wouldn’t work with jean.

Congratulations! Please keep us posted how you tell your family! I can’t keep secrets either … and I always imagined telling everyone together.

I really like [name]Sayer[/name] … It doesn’t make me think of [name]Sawyer[/name], but I’m also from the Midwest and there was a famous QB [name]Sayre[/name], so that’s what I thought of first.

Styler isn’t my tastes, but if you love it, use it! I really love the suggestion of [name]Sloane[/name].

Thanks to all of you for all your great suggestions!!! I have a lot to ponder over these next few months.

I love the name [name]Sloane[/name] for a little girl, however I don’t think it flows with [name]Jean[/name] either. And I thought [name]Sylvan[/name] sounded familiar and now I know why, great point!

My father is deceased so I will be going to my in-laws for fathers day. I have decided to by a nursery rhyme book and write something about reading to the baby after he/she is born. And we will by a Grandfather card too, that was an excellent idea!

My family is getting together this [name]Saturday[/name] for my Grandfathers 80th birthday party. I bought a picture frame that says “This is the day thie [name]Lord[/name] has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. This is a day to remember forever”. After he has opened gifts and we are all getting together to take pictures, my husband is going to be taking one with our camera, and he is going to have everyone say “[name]Sandi[/name]'s pregnant” instead of “Cheese”. Then we will have a picture with everyone’s reaction!

I really appreciate everyones comments and suggestions!!! [name]Hope[/name] everyone has a great weekend!

I really like [name]Stella[/name] [name]Jean[/name]!

WOW! That is such a great idea! It will be awesome to see their faces! They’ll be so confused! I’m definitely stealing that idea the next time I have a baby, so cool!

P.S. [name]Stella[/name] [name]Jean[/name] is too cute, sounds like a celebrity baby, in a good way!

I agree. I don’t care for Styler at all. Kind of reminds me of pigsty haha. [name]Sayer[/name] is hard to say. Alternatively, my favorite is [name]Stella[/name] for a girl and [name]Silas[/name] for a boy. I also like [name]Sailor[/name] spelled [name]Saylor[/name], which has the y you want! I’ve also seen [name]Sylas[/name], which would have the y too! Good luck!

At what stage did you start showing with 2nd pregnancy? This is my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy my belly pudged out slightly (noticeably though) at 8.5 weeks. [name]Ive[/name] heard it can happen sooner for consecutive pregnancies. [name]Just[/name] curious on others experiences.

Congratulations I am sure that your family will be ecstactic when they hear the good news.

I like names that are not overused but not weird. For example I asked a cute little girl what her name was and she told me it was [name]Jaguar[/name]. I then asked her if she was sure. My face was bright red when it was confirmed that that was her name. So please don’t go down that track.

My favourite S name at the moment is [name]Sabine[/name]. I think it is so classy.

Did you say O names too?

For a daughter [name]Olwen[/name] is unusual but nice and feminine. I am big on feminine names.

[name]Llewellyn[/name] for a boy rocks in my opinion.

[name]Boyd[/name] also for a boy is a good name.

With a beautiful granddaughter mn of [name]Skye[/name] I have to say that I love this one.

[name]Saffron[/name] and [name]Sage[/name] as someone suggested are nice.

I really like [name]Eugenia[/name] over [name]Jean[/name] I think it so feminine and you get nn of [name]Jean[/name] or [name]Gina[/name].

[name]Fleur[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name] are great names too.

That is all I can think of now I may stop by again when I have more inspiration.

I really like [name]Stella[/name] [name]Jean[/name]![/quote]

I agree this is a really nice combo.
