Hello! I am an extremely indecisive person to begin with and this baby naming process has taken over my life. My favorite name is [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]-yes, I realize it’s a predominately male name in other countries, but I find it really girlie and adorable. Plus, I love the idea of calling her [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] my personal opinion. I also love the name [name_f]Emme[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Emmy[/name_f]), but am worried about it being to “cutesy” for an adult. I then started looking for more names because I wanted more to choose from and found [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. I told my husband about this one and he loves it. I’m not in love with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], and am also worried about pronunciation issues with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. We would also never call her [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]; she would go by [name_f]Emme[/name_f]. I’m also not set in stone with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] as a middle name, so any middle name suggestions would be great! Thank you so much!
My favorite is [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I wonder though if you would like [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]? You could call her [name_u]Finn[/name_u] if you wanted too, she’s sorta frilly, like [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], but doesn’t have the pronunciation issues. Now that I think about it I really like the idea of [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. . .
My favorite is [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], but I don’t think it goes well with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] or [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]?
I think that [name_f]Emme[/name_f] is a little too cutesy for an adult. What about [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]? I adore [name_u]Finley[/name_u], though. What if you did two middle names? I think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a great, timeless middle name.
Here are some middle names for [name_u]Finley[/name_u]:
Theoretically, I like [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] but I considered this with my first daughter and everyone thought I was saying [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I don’t know if it’s just my accent or what but that made me take it off the list.
[name_f]Emme[/name_f] (I prefer [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]) gets my vote. [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] can definitely stand the test of time.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_u]Finley[/name_u] “[name_f]Emme[/name_f]”: this way you get to use all the names!
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] seems an “outlier” in terms of style, since it’s very masculine in comparison to classic, hyperfeminine [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and sweet [name_f]Emme[/name_f]. It would limit the names you chose for your future children —*with a sister [name_u]Finley[/name_u], I suppose most classic names & some surnames would be out for boys and girls. I would assume (for instance) [name_u]Finley[/name_u] & [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] would be of opposite genders, while [name_u]Finley[/name_u] & [name_m]Charles[/name_m] would be boys.
Alternatives for the nickname [name_u]Finn[/name_u]:
[name_f]Finola[/name_f]
[name_f]Finella[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Feline[/name_f]
[name_f]Rufina[/name_f]
I’m having that same issue as well, and I don’t like the name [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I also don’t like that thought of anyone calling her [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Bedelia[/name_f] after the children’s books
Yes, I am realizing that I have such a wide range of names that I like. My main goal was to try to keep the name out of the top 100 list. I just don’t know whether or not I want to go super girlie or unisex, hence why I’m so torn. I really like your advice, and will definitely keep that in mind when naming my little girl.
Out of the three [name_f]Emme[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is my favorite. I would prefer [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful and sweet.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] ([name_f]Emme[/name_f]) [name_u]Finley[/name_u]? I’m not really a fan of [name_u]Finley[/name_u], though I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for a boy. In any case, I see it working out well in the middle spot if you truly love it.
I really like [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Two out of the three little Finleys I know are cute little girls so I tend to like [name_u]Finley[/name_u] more for boys than girls. I think [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a pretty and I like the nickname [name_f]Emme[/name_f]. But, [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is my favorite.
I do love [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is an adorable nn, Im voting for [name_f]Emelia[/name_f] because I like it just a tad more–
I too love boy names as girl names (and, at least in the South, where I live, it is very common). I say go with [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]–it’s clearly what you love! And, although we probably hate to admit it here, your mn is really not THAT important. Most of your life, people know you by your nn and your last name (and never know your mn at all), so don’t stress about the mn too much, in my opinion. Think about what you are going to be calling your dd all the time, and what you love. Sounds like that is [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for you, and I think it is a great name!
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - Due to living in the UK, [name_u]Finley[/name_u] feels like a boy’s name and is known as a boys name. I have met a girl [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and felt really surprised by this. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I do see the appeal for [name_u]Finley[/name_u] as a girls name I prefer it as a boys choice. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a beautiful choice though.
[name_f]Emme[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Emme[/name_f] more so as a nickname but still it’s lovely as a stand alone name. [name_f]Emme[/name_f] feels like she would age better than [name_u]Finley[/name_u] which could come across trendy therefore in ten years time when so called unisex names aren’t the big thing it could link her to this period thus date her.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - I’m with hubby this is my favourite. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is a fresh choice she sounds elegant and pretty. I adore her how sound it’s such an elegant choice. She also has a great international flair and works well with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. You could switch [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] up by eating into the European style of this choice with the spelling [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] feels very delicate and pretty. Either way it’s a great combination.
I also like the suggestion of [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] which I think could feed into the two styles well.
I’d go with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. It feels the most complete to me. But I’m not wild about [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in the middle with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - the sounds are redundant. [name_m]How[/name_m] about something [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]-related that gives more contrast soundwise?
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (“EMmaleen”) is another nice full name for an “[name_f]Emme[/name_f].”
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]?
