[name_m]Hi[/name_m],
What sort of imagery/impression do you get from the name [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you see it as a dark or light name?
Thanks for your thoughts
I think [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] can go either way, depending on what name/s you use as a middle, but she is primarily a ‘light’ name for me.
I see her as:
…wildflower fields, period dramas, flouncy dresses, stacks of old books, delicate glasses balanced precariously on a freckled face, handpicked flower bunches…
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps a bit!
I agree with above, it’s mixed - it’s light and pretty but the middle of the name is dark and serious.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is the observant sister, who reads, and enjoys both art and science, invents games, cooks for pleasure, and laughs at jokes despite herself.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is classic but still distinctive, sharp and strong, and could lean either serious and sensible or sparky and fun - or a bit of both. It’s elegant but not over the top. I think I largely see it as ‘light’ in imagery.
It’s very much [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Bennet[/name_u] to me - ribbons, giggles, period dramas, hand-tied bunches of wildflowers, dancing til dawn, secret love notes.
Flowing white fabrics, golden coins, string instruments, shrubbery, classical architecture. Definitely a light name.
I have positive connotation:
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is a wild hearted curios child, whose hearty laugh lights up a room. She often reminiscences about fairy’s and princesses and lands far away, yet at other times she remains quite serious as she enjoys the small pleasures of life. She’s the ocean cracking against a rocky shore, the mornings soft dawn and dew, the firs sign of life after a cold winter, she’s watermelon juice dripping down your hands and onto your shirt.
