On Thanksgiving [name_f]Day[/name_f] of 2024, our family was blessed beyond measure to welcome our newest additions, [name_m]Noah[/name_m] [name_m]Brave[/name_m] and *Alice Thankful."
[name_m]Noah[/name_m] arrived seven minutes before his sister weighing 6lbs, 4oz, and Miss [name_f]Alice[/name_f], not one to be upstaged, arrived at 7lbs, 1oz. Although they are small, they are already showing us their strength with no NICU time and already settling in and home with their older siblings.
When it came to picking names for the twins, they very much named themselves. [name_m]Noah[/name_m] was named after the Biblical character, whose story we have in a picture book that we often read at bedtime with our older children. When my partner and I arrived home from our sonogram after being told that we were having twins, and our son, [name_m]Asher[/name_m], met us at the door with the book in his hands, and we just knew that if we had a boy, [name_m]Noah[/name_m] was to be his name. Noah’s middle name, [name_m]Brave[/name_m], was chosen so that our sweet boy always remembers that he has bravery in his heart and he can do all things through his own will and strength, and that it is brave simply to exist.
Our little girl, [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Thankful[/name_f], also made her name clear to us. We had picked the name [name_f]Alice[/name_f] early on after learning the twins’ sexes, largely due to the number of incredible namesakes that have held the name before her, whom we hope our sweet girl draws inspiration from, such as [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_m]Walker[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_m]Stokes[/name_m] [name_m]Paul[/name_m]. Alice’s middle name, [name_f]Thankful[/name_f], was chosen in the hope that she remembers that there is always something to be thankful for in this life, as well as how thankful we are to have earned the privilege of being her parents. Before their birth, Alice’s middle name was set to be [name_m]True[/name_m], but her birthday settled whatever doubt we may have had about what her middle name was supposed to be.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_m]Noah[/name_m] join older siblings [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Hallelujah[/name_f] (6), [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] [name_f]Isannah[/name_f] (4) and [name_m]Asher[/name_m] [name_m]Courage[/name_m] (2). They are all very their new brother and sister, especially sweet [name_m]Asher[/name_m], who has requested the Noah’s [name_m]Ark[/name_m] book as his bedtime story every evening since the twins came home.
[name_f]Happy[/name_f] birthday, my dears! You are more loved than words can say. We are ever so thankful for our little Thanksgiving blessings, our bookend babies, [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Thankful[/name_f] and [name_m]Noah[/name_m] [name_m]Brave[/name_m].
