My name is Emily and I am new to
this wonderful website! So anyway,
what names do you imagine when
you think of a brunette? Any ideas are
welcomed on this discussion!
Bye! For now!
The inspiration for this topic
originates from a website I
viewed last week. Link posted
for viewing: 15 Brunette Baby Names For Girls
Oh Yes! Thanks for answering and many
warm hellos back!
I can imagine a [name_f]Mary[/name_f] being with
raven colored hair and clear dark eyes
that visually penetrate the recesses
of your mind with her inquiring disposition.
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] also raises that image and interestingly
enough, [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] could also be added to
our list of lady brunettes.
Thanks for the list!
I find it curious that you
would add [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] to the
list of ebony haired beauties
since almost every name
based website depicts
a girl named [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
as being blonde. Well,
it is splendid to see you
add it to your list because I
had a great great grandma
named [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] on my
mom’s side of the family!
Oh that’s interesting!! I’ve just been reading [name_u]North[/name_u] and [name_u]South[/name_u] by [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] Gaskell so I have the main character [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]Hale[/name_u] in my head who has dark hair!!
Lol! I definitely have to get out
more! I have never seen or met
a [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] before in person. It is
not that common over here in [name_f]Miami[/name_f],
[name_f]Florida[/name_f]. The only time I might have met
one was when I attended grade school
and one of the teachers was named
[name_f]Rita[/name_f]. Who knows?
I think of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] all fall into this category, primarily because of characters in various shows. Anything that sounds Spanish, Italian, or Hebrew tends to fall into this category, too, because the people I’ve known with those names have had brunette hair! [name_f]Camila[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], and [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], for instance. I usually associate a name with some particular people - for instance, [name_f]Mary[/name_f] with [name_f]Lady[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Crawley from Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u]. I’m weird like that!
For some reason I cant image Jane as a blonde or redhead, but a brunette. Whenever I read a book with a character called Jane (like Jane Eyre) I always imagine them with brown hair. I don’t know why.
Oh I love Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u]! Yes, it is true that the people we know or the pop cultural references do have an influence on how we perceive a person with a certain name.
