So, my older sister [name]Kacey[/name] is pregnant, but she and her husband are busy with medical school right now so they find it difficult to focus much on the baby girl’s name. [name]Kacey[/name] knows what a huge name nut I am, so she decided to give me the honors of naming my little niece. So far, it’s all been a very interesting experience…it feels like I’m fourteen with my very own baby to name, except I’m not actually pregnant! Anyway, it’s on my mind quite a lot, and the past few days I’ve finally gotten enough ideas to be able to post a good topic on Nameberry. Basically, my sister is okay with anything as long as its not tryndeigh, made up, or totally outdated, like [name]Jennifer[/name] or [name]Stephanie[/name]. Also, she would be glad for 2 middle names but it’s not a huge priority.

I’ve come up with a couple that [name]Kacey[/name] and her DH [name]Paul[/name] has said yes to:

I really love the [name]Belle[/name] sound with [name]Claire[/name], though, but [name]Kacey[/name] is dead set against [name]Clarabelle[/name]. Or [name]Corabelle[/name], which I also love.

[name]Thessaly[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Bryn[/name] nn [name]Tessa[/name]—I saw this on Nameberry, fell in love with it, and had [name]Kacey[/name] fall in love with it too. The only problem is, we are saying it [name]TESS[/name]-uh-lee. Is that correct, or is it THESS-uh-lee?

In regards to [name]Thessaly[/name]; Thessalie is a region in [name]France[/name], and in [name]France[/name] I believe it is pronounced with the hard ‘T’ so thats how I would pronounce it [name]Tess[/name]-uh-lee

Sorry for the honest opinions, but seriously. I think the best piece of advice when you are picking out names is, “would you change your name to this?” can you seriously see yourself as an [name]Imelda[/name]? As a [name]Millicent[/name]? If you can honestly say yes, then I guess go for it.

LOL we are soul mates! Haha my sister and I have always had similar tastes in names, even though she wasn’t much of a name nerd. She just likes my suggestions a lot.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Magnolia[/name], but [name]Kacey[/name] isn’t on board with either of them. Which I guess could be a good thing, because [name]Flora[/name] is definitely one I’ll want to save for my own future baby. [name]Sukie[/name] for [name]Susannah[/name]/[name]Susan[/name] is so cute! [name]Imelda[/name]- I read in your previous post that you want peoples honest opinions. Honestly, I think this name is down right ugly, and I’m the kind of person that rarely thinks that about a name.
[name]Tabitha[/name]- This name always reminds me of cats, the nn [name]Tabby[/name] doesnt help.

We want to use it, definitely, but it seems to get a bad reaction from even the berries, which normally never happens unless it’s a tryndeigh name. As for [name]Helena[/name], we are saying [name]Helen[/name]+uh. However, we are both straying from this name right now because of the prn issues. I’m all for using family names so making [name]Imelda[/name] a mn would be a good option. [name]Tibbie[/name] is a really cute nn, I like that much more than [name]Tabby[/name]. I love both [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Leo[/name], so the cat connection really doesnt bother me. I want just pointing it out. I pronounce [name]Helena[/name] Huh-lay-nuh, only because the other prn reminds me too much of the city. What about [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Imelda[/name] [name]Claire[/name]?
