Imelda?

Right now I am almost 8 months pregnant with my first child, [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Dottie[/name_f]). I know I’m really ahead of time right now, but I’ve been thinking that a sister [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] would go well with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. What do you all think of it?
I’ve come up with some middle names:
[name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f]
[name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f]
[name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_u]Sky[/name_u]

I don’t think [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] go well together at all. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is very vintage, fairly popularly used throughout history with a peak in the 20’s/30’s. [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] was sporadically in the top 1000 every few years from 1901-30’s. It had a really random comeback in the #900’s during the 1970’s.

I don’t love [name_f]Imelda[/name_f]. I can see the appeal but since [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is such a strong and old-fashioned name that I think something really different from it like [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] might make the sibset seem really off. Of course, many people don’t care about that but it seems like you do? I also think [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] is a bit close to [name_f]Emerald[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Imelda[/name_f]?

I love your MN choices! [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is very nice.

I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] would make a great choice! It has similar sounds to [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] but it fresh and sounds fantastic with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. I especially love the idea of [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] as sisters!

Other ideas for a sister to [name_f]Dottie[/name_f]…
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] ([name_f]Maggie[/name_f])
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ([name_u]Josie[/name_u])
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] ([name_f]Ginny[/name_f])
[name_f]Mildred[/name_f] ([name_f]Millie[/name_f])
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] ([name_f]Bea[/name_f])
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] ([name_f]Annie[/name_f])
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] ([name_f]Lulu[/name_f])
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Betsy[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Liza[/name_f])
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] ([name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_u]Mel[/name_u])

I like [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Dottie[/name_f]) and [name_f]Imelda[/name_f]. Though they’re from different categories style-wise, there’s a quirkiness and cute clunkiness that seems to link them.

I like [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and I love [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] but I don’t like them together. [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] gives me a very witchy feeling, and though that in itself appeals to me, with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] it ends up giving me a [name_m]Wizard[/name_m] of [name_m]Oz[/name_m] vibe.

However, if that’s the name you love, go for it. Not everyone will get the same vibe as me, and when they leave home it becomes unimportant anyway.

I like [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] best out of your list.

I really like [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] together! For some reason I don’t see them as far apart style-wise as the others do. [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] and [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] are lovely. Congrats on your lil [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]! [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] is such a cute nickname.

I can’t separate [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] from [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_m]Marcos[/name_m]. And I don’t think [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] go together stylistically. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]? [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] brings to mind [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] and has a short and spunky feel that fits with [name_f]Dottie[/name_f]. I would choose [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f] to keep the gem theme and besides it is such a cool name!

I like [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] but not together. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] feels much more vintage. [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] feels a bit more sassy and spunky. I do really like [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_u]Sky[/name_u] and [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f] for combos though.

[name_f]Imelda[/name_f] sounds very like [name_f]Emerald[/name_f].

[name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] is even more similar and is [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] in Spanish.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering if this would appeal to you more. Whether as a first name or as a middle name with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] (and Iselda, Azelma, etc). [name_f]Imelda[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is gorgeous
