Imogen

[name]How[/name] do you prn this name? ImoJEN or imo[name]GENE[/name]? I detest [name]Imogene[/name]… I’d prefer imogen… Would it have prn issues or is it well used enough that people would know its imo[name]JEN[/name]?

Does it feel Irish/Scottish to you? I’d like that:)

Does it go well with [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name], and [name]Owen[/name]?

Definitely [name]Imo[/name]-[name]JEN[/name]. If you wanted to pronounce it [name]ImoGENE[/name], you would spell it [name]Imogene[/name]. I know seven girls called [name]Imogen[/name] and they all pronounce it [name]Imo[/name]-jin… It’s definitely pronounced easily in the UK, don’t know about [name]America[/name]. It’s an invented name by [name]Shakespeare[/name] but I suppose it could have a Gaelic feel if you wanted it to… Definitely think it does go with [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name] and [name]Owen[/name] - they all have a very similar feel.

I love [name]Imogen[/name]! I’m considering changing my [name]Violet[/name] combo to [name]Violet[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Claire[/name]. [name]Immy[/name] and [name]Gen[/name] are adorable nns.

I say it like im-oh-jen, and with [name]Imogen[/name] Heap’s fame (I haven’t heard much regarding them lately, but I think they were popular enough in [name]America[/name] for people to know how to say it), I don’t think you should have any pronunciation issues. Besides, grammatically, there is nothing at all to indicate that the “E” near the end should be said with a long “EEEE” sound. I don’t think it’ll be a problem. I don’t know if it really has a Irish/Gaelic feel, but it definitely has a British feel to it–I think it goes perfectly with [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name], and [name]Owen[/name]!

Good luck!

I [name]LOVE[/name] your [name]Violet[/name] combo! [name]Violet[/name] is also on my list. My short list is:
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name] nn [name]Rosie[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]

And [name]LOVE[/name] nn [name]Immy[/name] for [name]Imogen[/name]!!!

lol, which [name]Violet[/name] combo? [name]Violet[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Claire[/name] or [name]Violet[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name] [name]Claire[/name]?

I love your short list, btw! [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] are other favorites of mine, and [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], and [name]Stella[/name] are so pretty, too. I really like [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Stella[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Violet[/name], and [name]Imogen[/name] with your children!

My 11-year-old has an [name]Imogen[/name] in his class, it’s pronounced IMMA-jen, and she does go by [name]Immy[/name]!

When I see [name]Imogene[/name], the entire name changes. Rather than the above pronunciation, it’s EYE-ma-jean.

Apparently a ton of people mis prn this name, saying Imma jean or eye muh gene. :(. Not sure if this deters me or not, but it does make me second guess it. I would hate the mis prn!!

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Imogen[/name]. I pronounce it im-eh-jen. I don’t think it has Irish/Scottish feel, but it goes well with [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Owen[/name] and [name]Sullivan[/name]. If you live in the US, there might be some people who don’t know how to pronounce it, but I think it’s still nice with beautiful meaning. Good luck.

I know an 8 year old [name]Immy[/name]! So cute and darling!!

I know a girl named [name]Imogen[/name] - she pronounces it Imm-o-gin, which I prefer. She goes by [name]Immy[/name], too!

I live in [name]Ireland[/name], and though it’s definitely not an Irish name, it is popular in [name]England[/name] and [name]Wales[/name] and so it’s heard about a bit more than it probably would be in the USA. A very British name - I could see it flowing very well with an [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name] and [name]Owen[/name]!

It’s pronounced almost like [name]Imagine[/name]. Im-uh-jin

I love this name and have it on my list to with one of my top girl names!
