Wondering what your thoughts are on ‘[name]Adria[/name]’
Not [name]Adrianna[/name]. [name]Just[/name] [name]Adria[/name]. Is it too incomplete?
Apparently, it is a legitimate name, just one which fell out of favor…
“Thinking that this gorgeous name must be a recent one, since I hadn’t heard it before, I searched the British birth records online for it, between 1837 and 1915. There were 89.”
" The earliest was [name]Adria[/name] Stockwell Browne (1839). Other early ones included [name]Adria[/name] Hawkins (1843), [name]Adria[/name] [name]Fielder[/name] (1853), [name]Adria[/name] Ashman [name]Williams[/name] (1859), and the rather splendidly named [name]Adria[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] Dulcibella [name]Ford[/name] (1861). Best of all, these names were not mistranscribed by a clerk or typist, as proves sometimes the case when you can look at the original image."
“This established usage of [name]Adria[/name] makes the name a real winner in my view. It is reminiscent of [name]Julia[/name] in form, and so not “missing an ending”, not an incomplete [name]Adriana[/name].”
“I noticed that many early bearers were in the English [name]West[/name] Country as well as [name]London[/name]. (www. Behind the Name, jonquil)”
I think it’s lovely, it sort of reminds me of [name]Vivia[/name], which I also think in very pretty. I love how streamlined [name]Adria[/name] is but it still sounds and looks complete
I have loved this name ever since there was a woman named [name]Adria[/name] on the tv show “Big Brother”. She is the only [name]Adria[/name] I’ve ever heard of but I think it’s such a gorgeous name! It’s kind of like [name]Brielle[/name] or [name]Briella[/name] (from [name]Gabriella[/name]). I think it works!!
I like it. When I was in grade school, one of my friends’ moms had a baby girl and named her [name]Adria[/name] and I always thought it was pretty. That [name]Adria[/name] would be in her late 20s now. I’ve never known of another one, but I definitely don’t think it sounds incomplete or too different.
I’ve loved [name]Adria[/name] for a while now. It’s definitely very pretty. I also like [name]Adriana[/name] and have the same dilema as you, does [name]Adria[/name] sound incomplete? I do think it kind of sounds classier and more sophesticated than [name]Adriana[/name] in a way though.
[name]Adria[/name] is pretty, but I probably wouldn’t use it in a sibset with [name]Lara[/name]. They’re too similar for me. [name]Lara[/name] and [name]Adriana[/name] would be okay though.
I know an [name]Adria[/name]. She spells it Adrija (but is pronounced [name]Adria[/name]) and is from Eastern Europe. I have loved the name since I met her! Go for it, it’s so unique and pretty.
