After clinging on to our final two names–[name_f]Ida[/name_f] and [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]–for a long long time, my partner finally admitted that he had gone off them (probably, I grimly have to admit, in the process of the long back and forth discussions about them)
We have the name for a blue baby- Wilf- but have gone back to our earliest earliest drawing boards for a girl.
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] still has a lot of charm for me, but feels a little long not to be shortened
Am not entirely in love with [name_f]Liv[/name_f] or [name_f]Livvy[/name_f] for a girl, so there’s one issue.
Also, we don’t love [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] with any of our designated family names- other than perhaps [name_u]Joan[/name_u]/[name_f]Myrtle[/name_f] and are struggling to find a name cluster we like
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband’s sister is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] so he has suggested that for our honour name. [name_f]My[/name_f] only reluctance is that we haven’t been using names of still alive family members until now, and I’m not sure how I feel about it-certainly not totally adverse, but not indifferent to the difference if that makes sense!
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is one idea- but I wonder if the alliteration sounds silly?
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] ??? [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f] might also work, but any help filling in that central blank would be great since I’m not sure anyone is aloof enough to pull off having question marks as a middle name!
Thanks Berries, for the continuing advice!
