We don’t know baby no. 2’s gender yet. [name_u]Baby[/name_u] won’t uncross her/his legs. We’re not desperate or anxious about finding out. I like that baby is doing its own thing, not letting us see him/her, and in my mind (for now) baby is a girl. If we have a boy, I would be just as glad, but a little lost on what to name him.
We like some unrealistic names that I don’t think we can use for a person - probably for a pet: Orwell, [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] ([name_m]Huck[/name_m] could be a middle name if we really want to believe it, no?), Varian (as in Varian Fry), [name_m]Darwin[/name_m] and [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m].
We also brought up some normal names that we like well enough, but don’t seem as exciting as the female names we’ve discussed since our first child: [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] and [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] and [name_m]Stephen[/name_m].
I also really like [name_m]Hector[/name_m], but our last name starts with H-E, so that is yet again an obstacle that could rule it out. My husband, a die hard [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars nerd is also campaigning for [name_m]Cassian[/name_m], but to me its half absurd, half old man, and I’m just listing it here to fake open mindedness.
Personally I think [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] is usable but perhaps I’m just bias? I’ve loved the name since junior high. [name_m]Darwin[/name_m] is totally usable also, I believe it was in the baby announcements not too long ago. Some other “unrealistic” names you may like are [name_m]Cotton[/name_m] or [name_m]Remus[/name_m].
Some suggestions:
[name_m]Casimir[/name_m] (Caz-meer) alternative to [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] maybe?
[name_m]Philip[/name_m]
[name_m]Troy[/name_m]
[name_m]Conrad[/name_m]
[name_m]Holden[/name_m]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]
[name_m]Warren[/name_m]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_u]Beau[/name_u]
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
[name_m]Alistair[/name_m]
[name_m]Roland[/name_m]
[name_m]Clark[/name_m]
[name_m]Russell[/name_m]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Maxfield[/name_m]/[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]
[name_m]Nelson[/name_m]
[name_m]Roger[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicolai[/name_m]
[name_m]Wesley[/name_m]
I smiled when I read that you find [name_m]Darwin[/name_m] and [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] to be realistic options, since we love both. We don’t want to overdo it and burden our child with a name that only mom would love, so real opinions matter here. [name_m]Darwin[/name_m] in particular could work. [name_m]Huck[/name_m] [name_m]Darwin[/name_m]… [name_m]Darwin[/name_m] [name_m]Huck[/name_m]?
My husband’s name is [name_m]Troy[/name_m], which is a bonus reason why I support [name_m]Hector[/name_m]. And from your list of suggestions I was immediately drawn to [name_m]Roland[/name_m]. Thank you. It is definitely more exciting than the ones we’ve repeated for a while. [name_m]Roland[/name_m] [name_m]Huck[/name_m]? Could it be?
I think [name_m]Darwin[/name_m] [name_m]Huck[/name_m] has a great flow! If you decide to use the full name for [name_m]Huck[/name_m] as a mn, [name_m]Darwin[/name_m] [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] has a stunning flavor and joyful ambiance to it :). I’m glad you like [name_m]Roland[/name_m], very underrated imo. [name_m]Roland[/name_m] [name_m]Huck[/name_m] is wonderful, so happy I could help!!
I like your quirky names! I like [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] but I think I prefer [name_m]Huck[/name_m] on its own. If you use that for a first, are you concerned that it starts with an H like your last name, or is that not an issue? I also like Orwell, [name_m]Hector[/name_m], [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] and [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m].
What are your favorites for girls? Maybe we could help give more suggestions based on that!
I wish we were bold and hip enough to name our son [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m]. It would be so much fun, but we’re more nerdy than hipsters, and we’re probably going to use [name_m]Huck[/name_m] as a middle name. It feels moderate and still sweet.
We have no idea what we will do for a first name. I am excited about [name_m]Roland[/name_m], Orwell, [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] and [name_m]Darwin[/name_m]. My husband is still hoping for [name_m]Cassian[/name_m].
@Cactusgram, you already gave us great input on our female name list, and you backed up [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_u]Bell[/name_u]! Which made me happy because you have [name_m]Peter[/name_m] Rabbit on your avatar. [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] are also on the list. We’ve abandoned [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
