Our baby girl is born and we need to choose our name tonight for the birth certificate. We want a name that is feminine but a name that also evokes strength/intelligence. [name_u]Love[/name_u] many of the top 100 names but would prefer a name not in the top 100. We also have son [name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] so would like our daughters name to fit with his. Below is our final list (unless anyone has a different idea for us.) Would SOOOOO much appreciate your thoughts. Thank you!!!
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (we would call her “[name_f]Mae[/name_f]”)
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
You have a preference for a feminine name so I like [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] or [name_f]Lila[/name_f] for you. [name_u]Reese[/name_u] is a unisex name and I know one of each so wouldn’t assume girl when I heard the name. For me, they’re both definitely feminine and I can visualize her in occupation from attorney, artist, or absolutely anything she chooses. [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] and [name_u]Dean[/name_u] both begin with the same letter which is nice but if you plan to have more children you may wonder if you have to choose a D name, or not. I love both [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and they’re easily recognizable but not too common.
Congratulations on the Birth of your precious Child/Children! Sorry, it is unclear if they are Twins or if [name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] is the Older Brother! If they are Twins then I would definitely go with:
[name_u]Dean[/name_u] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] sound PERFECT together! Both rarely used but well known gems of one syllable but with a long sound/feel to them.
If they are not Twins then either [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Lila[/name_f] sound lovely with [name_u]Dean[/name_u]!
I just reread your original message and saw that you want a name that is feminine but a name that also evokes strength/intelligence. I would therefore DEFINITELY go with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] as it is the Name of two Queens in Irish [name_u]Legend[/name_u] and, to me, nothing symbolises Feminine strength and intelligence more than a [name_f]Queen[/name_f]! Also, the meaning of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] best fits this description too, “She who intoxicates”!
I love [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_u]Dean[/name_u]. So [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is my first choice but [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a close second
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] sounds too much like [name_u]Dean[/name_u] and isn’t quite as feminine as your other choices. [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] sounds too matchy with [name_u]Dean[/name_u]. And [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is gorgeous but it’s a lot more popular than you might think. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is a gorgeous choice!
