In need of advice!

[name]How[/name] do you guys feel about couples / shippings name that have the same letter or next letter?

[name]Caroline[/name] / [name]David[/name]
[name]David[/name] and [name]Danielle[/name]

Because I have this issue, with coming up with an definite name for this female character for this fanfiction I’m writing the love interests name is [name]Benji[/name] which is short for [name]Benjamin[/name], and the brother’s name is [name]Jesse[/name] and I don’t want it to watch with either one of those.

I usually go with names that have meaning;

[name]Tallulah[/name] / nn; Talis, [name]Talia[/name], [name]Tali[/name], / Native American / running water
[name]Cordelia[/name]/ nn; [name]Cori[/name], [name]Cor[/name], / warm-hearted
[name]Arabela[/name] / nn: [name]Ari[/name], [name]Bella[/name], / beautiful lion
[name]Cassie[/name]: / prophetess
[name]Hannah[/name] / nn; [name]Nana[/name], / [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Nadia[/name] / Naddie / hope

Any of suggestions of yours would be awesome, I think I really like [name]Tallulah[/name], [name]Cassie[/name]. [name]Hannah[/name] & [name]Nadia[/name]
Thanks for any help!

The next letter never bothered me, I wouldn’t particularly notice either.
Same letters though tend to get a bit…redundant?

For [name]Benji[/name] I like the sound of [name]Hannah[/name] or [name]Cordelia[/name].

Yeah, I don’t tend to notice the next letter thing either. Same letters I do, but it doesn’t bother me unless I start getting confused. Some parents name their kids with the same letter, it’s a fact of life, why should it never happen in stories?

I wouldn’t use [name]Cassie[/name] as [name]Cassie[/name] and [name]Jesse[/name] are too close for me to be siblings. I think [name]Nadia[/name] or [name]Hannah[/name] would go well with [name]Benji[/name] and [name]Jesse[/name], though.

I just bought about, [name] Ari [/name] or [name]Lena [/name]would be a cute too. It’s hard to choose! [name]How[/name] do you guys narrow down choices?!

I have a friend [name]Caroline[/name] who dated a [name]David[/name], and the name thing never occurred to any of us.

Sometimes it just clicks. It’s like naming a pet, in a way. Once you’ve got the character mentally mapped out - looks, personality - you’ll just know when you find the right name that suits them down to a T.
