My boyfriend has now agreed to the name [name_u]Emery[/name_u] for a girl. I’d love to get some ideas for middles. We want something not too frilly, but something distinctly feminine to go in the middle spot, since [name_u]Emery[/name_u] is a unisex name.
The last name starts with a P, so no P names because it will clash.
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Lula[/name_f]…which makes me think of a baby I know named [name_f]Trula[/name_f], so how about [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Trula[/name_f]
I WISH I could use [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]June[/name_u], or [name_u]June[/name_u] as a middle period, but my grandmother who is not a very nice person goes by [name_u]June[/name_u] so I can’t use it. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] was actually the name of my other grandma, whom I was very close to, and I normally don’t like many name paired with it but I think [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is really pretty.
I’m also really glad you mentioned [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Isla[/name_f], because I thought about it, but I wasn’t sure if it flowed well. All of the others on my signature have been vetoed by the boyfriend, except for [name_u]Leighton[/name_u], [name_u]Everly[/name_u], and [name_f]Charlee[/name_f]. If they hadn’t have been vetoed already, I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]. It’s practically perfect imo
Oops, didn’t see yours @whirligig! [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] is super pretty! I like [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f], too.
@lexiem [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] is exactly the kind of name I’m looking for in the middle: Girly, offbeat, not too frilly, yet feminizes [name_u]Emery[/name_u]. I’ll suggest it to the boyfriend, although I doubt he’ll like it. His taste is much, much plainer than mine, haha.
Like I said earlier, I wish I could use [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]June[/name_u] because it’s perfect. I do like [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Faye[/name_f], though.
Now I have another question. Since I can’t use [name_u]June[/name_u], would [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] be out of the question for a girl? Or is that too masculine?

[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is too masculine… unless you are ok with everyone assuming she’s a man her whole life. It has a nice sound but definitely best left to the boys! You could save [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] for a boy, if you really love it.
I think [name_u]Emery[/name_u] is unexpected enough that you can go with a more classic feminine middle name. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]? Similar sound, just a tad more feminine. [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is also very, very pretty. [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] would be nice b/c of the family connection. Other ideas:
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Maris[/name_f] (m[name_f]AIR[/name_f]-iss)
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]Noel[/name_u]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Jewel[/name_f] (I like this one a lot! Definitely feminine w/o being frilly or girly.)
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Lara[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]Jo[/name_u]
Thanks for the imput! One of my biggest Naming pet peeves are names that you can’t tell the gender of the child with. I just was wondering if [name_u]Emery[/name_u] was maybe more girly and it could work, but I guess not! I’d like to use [name_u]Emery[/name_u] for girls, because my boyfriend and I have a ton of boy names we agree on but hardly any girls. I can’t use [name_f]Kate[/name_f], and someone I don’t like just had a baby named [name_f]Jane[/name_f] so those don’t work, but I [name_f]DO[/name_f] like [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Willow[/name_f], and [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] (this spelling)
@tori101 I can’t believe I didn’t think of [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]! That’s cute. I also like [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] @shanade213 I think [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Colette[/name_f] is darling.
I love [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u], and I actually thought of that before suggesting [name_u]June[/name_u], but I thought you wanted a touch more girly, guess I should have mentioned it.
