In need of new name inspirations for boy #2

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all. Ten weeks to B-day and we are no closer to finding the right name for [name_m]Felix[/name_m]'s little brother. The new SSA list didn’t help because many of our contenders are getting too common. We are really in need of some fresh ideas! I feel like I have scrutinized every name in existence, but I am not sold on anything. We have a difficult last name (begins with K and sounds like “car” or “car rer” depending on who says it…). I tend to shy away from anything too popular, none of the [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], [name_m]Caden[/name_m], etc. For the most part we don’t like most -son names. Most -er ending names don’t work with our surname, same to be said of names with a hard C or K. I like familiar names without multiple spellings and absolutely no Cre8tif spellings. We live in Michigan USA, with mostly [name_m]German[/name_m] and Irish heritage (not that we are trying to stick to any roots, just FYI). Current inspirations include:

[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] (love, but I worry its getting too common)
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] (love, but too popular)
[name_m]Soren[/name_m] (like a lot, but just not sold yet)
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] (getting popular?)
[name_m]Levi[/name_m] (again too common)
[name_m]Ewan[/name_m] (not sold on)
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] (okay, wife likes)
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] (growing on me, but worried trending way up)
[name_m]Casper[/name_m] (like name, not sure meshes with our surname or with son’s name)
[name_m]Edwin[/name_m] (not sure)

Names vetoed by wife: [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], [name_m]Abram[/name_m], [name_m]Gavin[/name_m], [name_m]Gordon[/name_m], [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Wesley[/name_m], [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]
Names vetoed by me: [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] (wife is obsessed with this), [name_u]Blaise[/name_u], [name_m]Zander[/name_m], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m] (I like, but too many spellings)

Help! lol

I think something [name_m]Soren[/name_m] is a wonderful choice for a boy’s name that is unique but not too odd. I think is sounds great.
I love [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] too but they’re both extremely popular and growing.

My favourites on your list are [name_m]Ewan[/name_m]/[name_m]Ewan[/name_m] and [name_m]Soren[/name_m]. [name_m]Soren[/name_m] has the same vibe as [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] which I also like and which has been suggested.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Keep 'em coming. From these lists I like [name_u]Alden[/name_u], [name_m]Warren[/name_m], and [name_u]Leland[/name_u]. I have [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], [name_m]Gage[/name_m], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], and [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] on my list, but they have either been vetoed or are off limits due to family member usage. I am intrigued by [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] and [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m], but I will have to dwell on them some more. Thanks

[name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to disregard this if your mind is truly made up. You seem to have names you both really love. If something less popular does not click as perfectly as the more popular choices, I think you should go with what you love ultimately.

From your list I adore [name_m]Edwin[/name_m]. It’s awesome! [name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] are just great together.

I’ll add [name_m]Fergus[/name_m]. I know a little [name_m]Fergus[/name_m] and he is about the cutest little boy ever.

The nerdy chic feel is what drew us to [name_m]Felix[/name_m] originally. He is also becoming a very energetic, smart, and opinionated  little boy. I am a lab scientist and my wife teaches math so it was right up our alley. It suits him perfect and we both love it, which is why the struggle for #2 has been real. From your suggestions I do like [name_m]Ansel[/name_m], [name_m]Roland[/name_m], [name_m]Byron[/name_m], and a couple others that have been used or vetoed. Thanks. From other suggestions I like [name_m]Edgar[/name_m], it is growing on me.

I love [name_m]Felix[/name_m]. It’s one of my favourite boys names. I would pair him up with the following -

[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_m]Duncan[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_m]Rufus[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_u]Toby[/name_u]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_m]Monty[/name_m]

The suggestion of [name_m]Roland[/name_m] has been on my list for a while and it is growing on me of late. The sticking point I think is the nn options. [name_f]Ro[/name_f] or [name_m]Rolly[/name_m]/[name_m]Rollie[/name_m] are options, and this might be obvious, but would you pronounce [name_m]Rolly[/name_m]/[name_m]Rollie[/name_m] as “rah-ly” or “Row-ly”? Also, opinions on the name? other suggestions?
