In Need of Opinions

So, I know my style’s a bit different compared to most people on Nameberry, but I’ve taken off a lot of my previous names, because I’ve been talked out of them ([name_f]Savannah[/name_f], [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f], etc), so I’m hoping to narrow down my list further.

I have:

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] (Ay-da)
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] (Hel-lay-na)
[name_f]Keziah[/name_f]
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] ([name_u]Lee[/name_u]-nah)
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f]
[name_f]Millie[/name_f]
[name_f]Nancy[/name_f]* (not sure on this now because of the [name_f]Nancy[/name_f]-boy connection, I haven’t heard it used before, but I know it exists)
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] ([name_f]Roz[/name_f]-ah-lind)
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]

Sorry the list is long - I’m hoping some input can sway me.

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] (Ay-da)-- Very cute and vintage.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]-- Honestly, I can’t shake the old lady image from this. I prefer [name_f]Bea[/name_f].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]-- Classic and on trend.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]-- Very sweet. One of my favorites.
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]-- One of my current name crushes. I could never use it, but I’d love to see it on a child.
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]-- So sweet! I know a two year old redhead with the name and it totally suits her.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]-- I love this, because it is such a strong, dignified name that ages well.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]-- Sweet, but also really popular.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]-- Almost too cutesy for me.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]-- Plain. I know a ton of little Emmas. [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is one of my favorites and a less popular alternative.
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]-- [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] this name!
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]-- Nms, but I’d love to see this on someone else’s kid.
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]-- See above ^^
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]-- Again, see above ^^ haha
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]-- No. I don’t see the appeal to this name. Not a fan of state names.
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]-- This just makes me visualize an old, crabby aunt that no one wants to spend time with. Haha, sorry.
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]-- I prefer [name_f]Hattie[/name_f].
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] (Hel-lay-na)-- I know a girl named [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]. Gorgeous.
[name_f]Keziah[/name_f]-- Cute biblical girl name.
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] ([name_u]Lee[/name_u]-nah)-- Too plain, you’ve got much better choices on this list.
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]-- Cute, sweet and trendy.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]-- I know way too many Lilys.
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]-- Super sassy, I love it!
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]-- Stick with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]-- One of my all time favorites.
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]-- Too cutesy, imo.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]-- Opposite problem from [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] to me; too serious.
[name_f]Mia[/name_f]-- Sweet and trendy. Can’t really go wrong with [name_f]Mia[/name_f].
[name_f]Millie[/name_f]-- Eh. It’s okay.
[name_f]Nancy[/name_f]-- Very, very dated to me. Not a fan.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]-- Another one of those names I’d like to see on someone else’s kid.
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] – See above ^^
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] ([name_f]Roz[/name_f]-ah-lind)-- It’s not bad, just nms so I don’t really find it appealing.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]-- Very cute and spunky.
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]-- I used to like this, but now it feels like a dog/cat name to me.
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]-- Very pretty.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]-- It’s cute, but super trendy. I’d prefer to see this in the middle spot rather than the first.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]-- Very pretty.
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]-- I have really been liking this lately.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps some!

What a long list! I’m just going to list them by Like/Neutral/Dislike.

Dislike:
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] (Ay-da)- It seems nasal and doesn’t have a pretty sound at all to me.
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]- I dislike the [name_f]Gina[/name_f] sound for the same reasons I dislike [name_f]Ada[/name_f].
[name_f]Keziah[/name_f]- It has a nice sound but looks atrocious to me on paper.
[name_f]Nancy[/name_f]* (not sure on this now because of the [name_f]Nancy[/name_f]-boy connection, I haven’t heard it used before, but I know it exists)- It is so extremely dated in my eyes that I can’t imagine it on a little girl, only on a 40+ year old woman.
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] ([name_f]Roz[/name_f]-ah-lind)- I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] but despise this pronunciation.

@marshmallow - I was a bit on the fence with [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] too because of popularity - I haven’t met a little [name_f]Lily[/name_f] yet though, I’ve only ever met one, and she was 12, so before the trend started here. I do know a few [name_f]Ella[/name_f]'s though, and I know what you mean about [name_f]Emma[/name_f].

@characternamer - I never used to like the [name_f]Roz[/name_f]-ah-lind pronunciation either, but now I’m used to it, haha. I get what you’re saying about [name_f]Ada[/name_f] as well, it does sound a bit nasal-y.

Thank you both

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] – Simply put, [name_f]Love[/name_f] it.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] – I have the same old-lady image issue. Though nn [name_f]Bea[/name_f] eliminates this, would prefer name without planned nn attached to it.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] – Seen this a lot lately! I enjoy this name but wouldn’t personally use it. I find that in general I’m not drawn to feminized male names.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] – Sweet, timeless, can’t go wrong. No one is going to say “why on earth did you pick that name” with this one.
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] – I don’t like this name, but I love the nn for it: [name_f]Clary[/name_f]! Which makes me think of [name_f]Clary[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u].
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] – Adorable.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] – It’s beautiful and strong. Timeless but maybe not as refreshing as some of the other names in this category.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] – Very popular as a full name as well as a nn for many other popular choices. Still, it’s so lovely.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] – [name_f]Love[/name_f] it.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] – Another one you can’t go wrong with. Same as with [name_f]Clara[/name_f].
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] – Same as with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] – a little too flamboyant for me.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] – [name_f]Love[/name_f] it.
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] / [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] – See [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] – [name_m]Don[/name_m]‘t like this name at all. I can’t help but think [name_m]Harry[/name_m] - It.
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] – Beautiful. The various pronunciations, that are legit in their own right, would bother me though. Hel-lay-na, Hel-en-uh.
[name_f]Keziah[/name_f] – This name feels like it’s lacking something though I have no idea what.
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] – [name_f]Lovely[/name_f].
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] – Also [name_f]Lovely[/name_f].
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] – Also Also [name_f]Lovely[/name_f].
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] – Family name that I find darling.
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] – rather go with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] than straight up [name_f]Lottie[/name_f].
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] – Very sweet and likable.
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] – I really want to love this name, but instead only like it. Maybe because it sounds awfully nicknamey to me.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] – Not a fan. [name_m]Don[/name_m]‘t like the inevitable [name_u]Mattie[/name_u] or [name_f]Tilly[/name_f].
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] – [name_f]Lovely[/name_f].
[name_f]Millie[/name_f] – Too Nicknamey.
[name_f]Nancy[/name_f] – [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] Boy! I too have never heard it but know it exists making me think it’s something our grandfathers’ as 20-something hooligans said. [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] is darling.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] – Definitely a more elaborate choice. Very shakespearean.
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] – Want to love it, only like it. Ultimately, I love the image of a poppy, but don’t like the sound of it.
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] – prefer [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] as “rose” name.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] – Cute, has the same charm as [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] for me.
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] – No. Too many dogs I know are named [name_f]Sadie[/name_f].
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] – Very in right now. I like it. I can’t help but make the connection to [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] O’[name_f]Hara[/name_f], quite the formidable character there.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] – Prefer [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] – Another trendy one. Vintage but fresh sounding. I like it quite a bit.
[name_f]Zara[/name_f] – I have a hard time liking names that begin with Z that I’m used to starting with an S, even if they are their own legitimate, separate name and not an alternate spelling.

[name_f]Ada[/name_f]: I prefer [name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]: Not a fan
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]: [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] especially the nickname [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]: I prefer just [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]: I know a [name_f]Carissa[/name_f] and she always gets [name_f]Rissa[/name_f] which could be an issue with [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]: [name_f]Love[/name_f] this
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]: One of my personal favourites
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]: Like it but it could sound dated in the future
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]: I love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] especially with the nickname [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]: I like it but there are three [name_f]Emma[/name_f]'s in my homeroom alone so its overused
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]: Too twilight
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]: I like it but I would use the nickname [name_f]Flo[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]: I like it but the only [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] I know is always called by her full name which is very annoying (she thinks [name_u]Franky[/name_u] on a girl is silly)
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]: I’ve never seen the appeal of [name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]: Its very 1990’s in Australia and both [name_f]Jorja[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] are top 100 choices here
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]: One of the popular girls in my school has this name and she isn’t too nice to me so I don’t like the name
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]: Too dated and old
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] (Hel-lay-na): I prefer [name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Keziah[/name_f]: I can’t like this
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] ([name_u]Lee[/name_u]-nah): I love this I know a 104 year old with this name so it wears well into adulthood
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]: I like it but prefer [name_f]Layla[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]: I prefer [name_f]Lilliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]: Never liked this
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]: I like it but I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] just as much
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]: I like this it seems very english to me though
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]: Very [name_f]Maisy[/name_f] Mouse to me but I’m starting to warm to [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]: [name_f]LOve[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] especially with the nickname [name_f]Millie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f]: An old favourite its just a top 5 choice in my state so I would never use it
[name_f]Millie[/name_f]: I prefer it as a nickname for [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Nancy[/name_f]: Too old lady
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]: This has never sounded nice to me though I think [name_f]Opal[/name_f] would make a darling nickname for it
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]: I like this
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]: Prefer [name_f]Rosalia[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]: Too popular in Australia but I can see the appeal
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]: Never been a fan
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]: very trendy
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]: I love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]: Never seen the appeal
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]: I love this but the clothing chain makes me think it might not be usable

Ooh, long list. This might be brief! Highlighted are the ones I’d definitely keep for you…

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] - it’s alright.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], even though it’s very tied to one person for me now.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - pretty and classic, it’s not me but I definitely see the appeal.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - lovely.
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] - so pretty, reminds me of the book/film [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] for some reason… is there a [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] in it?
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I like the [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] reference.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] - I honestly don’t see the appeal at all.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - again, I’ve never really loved this.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - dislike. Slimy sounding and too [name_m]French[/name_m]!
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] - gorgeous and classic.
[name_f]Esme[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f], so fun yet well-rounded. I don’t like the EZ-MEE pn.
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] - So beautiful.
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] - I like this, but mainly for the nn [name_u]Fran[/name_u]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - pretty, but I have a really strong assosiation so I can never really love it.
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] - My sister’s name! I like it a lot.
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f] - It’s alright. I don’t like -eena endings much.
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] - my cousin’s name  She’s a [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] which you might like?
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] - so lovely. I prefer the heh-leh-nah pn though
[name_f]Keziah[/name_f] - I have an awful association here.
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] this! It reminds me so much of [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_m]Dunham[/name_m] now, which is TOTALLY a good thing.
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] - eh, it’s okay. I have a relative called [name_f]Lila[/name_f]… I feel mutual.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] - never seen a massive appeal.
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]! I slightly prefer [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] or [name_f]Lolita[/name_f] though, even though neither are particuarly usable.
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] - I don’t see the appeal… I like [name_f]Lotta[/name_f]/[name_f]Lotte[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - Dull.
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] - Cute, but sort of overdone in the UK
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], but it doesn’t feel really special to me anymore.
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] - dislike.
[name_f]Millie[/name_f] - dislike.
[name_f]Nancy[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] Boy is a British term… even just a ‘’[name_f]Nancy[/name_f]‘’ is a wimp. It’s still popular here though, and I still love it. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t let it put you off. The term is fairly old fashioned anyway (I read it in a [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_m]Woolf[/name_m] book recently).
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], but again, this one doesn’t feel super special anymore.
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] - dislike.
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] - I like the [name_f]ROSE[/name_f]-uh-lind pn, but I really dislike the [name_f]ROZ[/name_f] sound.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] - Pretty.
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] - not my thing.
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] - overused. I see the appeal, though.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] - dull.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - Pretty but again, not really that special.
[name_f]Zara[/name_f] - I like it but [name_f]Lara[/name_f] feels classier and more up to date.

Where’s [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]?! I met the cutest little [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] recently, she made me like it even more.

Well, I work at a day care and in my current class there is a [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] and a [name_f]Lily[/name_f], one of the teachers there has a daughter named [name_f]Lilly[/name_f], and in the summer day camp we had last year, we had another [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. So I just hear of it all the time. As far as [name_f]Ella[/name_f] goes, I know of about 3 in my town. It’s not BAD that it’s popular, you just have better, more unique choices on your list and I think you can do better than [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f]

I still love [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], but I just don’t really see myself having a daughter named [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] Although, it’s one of the few [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn’s my mum likes (My mum’s an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]).

My personal favorites are -

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] - I do not know if I could get myself to use it as a full name, yet. I love it for a middle name.
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]

Sorry for repetitive descriptions!

[name_f]Love[/name_f]:
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]- I can imagine an elegant 19th-century noblewoman named this, but it’s totally usable in the 21st century too
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]- core classic, sophisticated and regal yet familiar and down-to-earth. A [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] could be anyone, from any era or level of society
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]- elegant, refined, feminine but strong, with tons of history and great associations (I love the connection to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] of [name_f]Aquitaine[/name_f])
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]- vintage-chic, familiar but not popular, feels quite British
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]- dramatic, flashy, and fun, familiar but feels exotic and Italian
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]- I’d say it like [name_f]Helen[/name_f] with “ah” on the end, but both are pretty. Beautiful and feminine but strong, and also lots of historical/literary connections
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]- feminine but not frilly, classy and sophisticated but spunky and playful. [name_f]Empress[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] was a pretty cool historical figure.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]- I couldn’t use this myself because I found her character submissive and weak, but I like the sound and the exciting, dramatic vibe
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]- playful-but-sophisticated, warm and friendly, charming and charismatic. [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] in As You Like It is one of my favourite [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] characters.
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]- dramatic, exciting, eye-catching, a real whirlwind. I think of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] O’[name_f]Hara[/name_f], of course, a flawed but beautiful character, whom I love dearly and deeply in spite of everything.
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]- for me it’s the ultimate [name_f]East[/name_f]-meets-[name_u]West[/name_u] name, it’s daring and exotic Arabian desert adventures but also a spunky, popular, but always respectable British girl who moves in upper-class circles and knows how to have fun without stirring up trouble. [name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_m]Phillips[/name_m] is one of my favourite royals, so I imagine a person like her.

Like:
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]- packs a lot of punch in just three letters
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]- feminine and a bit flouncy, without being froufrou
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]- dainty, delicate, sweet, but never excited me. I’m not too fond of [name_f]Emma[/name_f] Woodhouse either, found her a bit silly and not all too sensible.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]- I like the connection to the Norse goddess, but this sounds rather cold and unwelcoming
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]- very Southern, it makes me think of the state
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]- prim, proper, British, definitely upper-class
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]- solid and grounded, but while it’s definitely a girls’ name it doesn’t sound feminine enough for me
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]- cute, demure, a mix of respectable British primness and stylish [name_m]French[/name_m] flair

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]- it feels rather cold and unfriendly to me
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]- I tend to dislike names with long O sounds
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]- sounds cold and menacing to me, like a witch’s name
[name_f]Keziah[/name_f]- this seems trendy and misspelled to me, sorry if I’m mistaken
[name_f]Nancy[/name_f]- never heard of the [name_f]Nancy[/name_f]-boy connection. My first thought was [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] [name_u]Reagan[/name_u]. It seems a frumpy and old-lady-ish to me.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]- harsh and grating to me
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]- same as [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], despite it being a NB favourite

Too cutesy but would make great nicknames (though I know some ARE full names):
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f])- and I don’t like the [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_m]Buchanan[/name_m] connection
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] (for any [name_f]El[/name_f]- or -ella name)
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] (for [name_f]Helena[/name_f]) (I know this can be a full name, but I don’t like it as one)- I think of [name_f]Lena[/name_f] from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, who was an interesting character
[name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (for any [name_f]Lil[/name_f]- name)
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] (for [name_f]Lorena[/name_f], [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]/[name_f]Laura[/name_f], etc.)
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] (for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]) (though the Dutch [name_f]Lotte[/name_f]- something like “law-tuh” is nice on its own)
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] (for any [name_m]Luc[/name_m]- name)
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] (for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f])
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] (for any name that starts with M and ends in or contains “ia”)
[name_f]Millie[/name_f] (for [name_f]Mildred[/name_f], [name_f]Milena[/name_f], even [name_f]Matilda[/name_f])
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] (for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f])
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] (for [name_f]Sarah[/name_f])
*That being said, I don’t like “nickname names” in general

First of all, thank you to everyone for your input! I managed to take off a few names

@oliviasarah - thank you for picking out what ones you feel suit my style well, and I’ve added [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] back into my list  I was on the fence about her, but, if I’m using an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nickname to honour my mum, then I should at least use one she likes  (My mum’s always said she found [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] cute).

@lovemysweeties - I think [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] works for me because I have some military history in my family

I’ve decided to keep these, the bolded names have family connections:

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]

[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Nancy[/name_f] ([name_f]Anne[/name_f] is a generational name in my family, but since [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] began as a nickname for [name_f]Anne[/name_f], it feels best for me to use  )
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
