Hello! My partner is expecting twins, and we don’t know the genders (she wanted it to be a surprise). So, we’re trying to pick out two boy names and two girl names. We want them all to go together nicely, but they don’t have to be extremely similar either, though that’s fine too if the names are nice! What makes it a bit more complicated is that my family has a tradition, so that each new baby is given one “new” name and one name after a relative. For example, my first name is [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] and my middle name is [name_f]Christina[/name_f], which is my mother’s name. It can also be a family surname (though obviously not the baby’s surname).
So far the only name we’ve settled on for sure is [name_u]Elisha[/name_u] Carder, for a boy (pronounced almost like [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], not like [name_f]Alicia[/name_f]). Ideally the other three names should all work well with that, and these will be our only planned children. She’s a fan of using common boy names for girls/common girl names for boys - which is part of why we picked [name_u]Elisha[/name_u]. I like shorter or less “feminine” names for girls such as [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_u]Rue[/name_u]…
Here’s some family names we can use:
- [name_m]Graham[/name_m]
- [name_u]Blake[/name_u]
- [name_m]William[/name_m]
- [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] or [name_u]Sydney[/name_u]
- [name_f]Christina[/name_f] or [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] [ my mother’s first and middle names - I would really like to name my daughter after her, preferably as a middle name ]
- [name_u]Jordan[/name_u]
- [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
- [name_u]Shannon[/name_u]
- [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
- [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f]
- [name_m]Liam[/name_m]
- [name_m]Caiden[/name_m]
- [name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
- [name_u]Riley[/name_u]
- [name_m]Richard[/name_m]
- [name_m]Randall[/name_m]
- [name_f]Edith[/name_f]
And also some close friends we’d be interested in naming a child after:
- [name_f]Robyn[/name_f] or Lynn
- [name_f]Janette[/name_f] or Olivia
- [name_f]Lea[/name_f] or Marie
- [name_m]Jason[/name_m]
Sorry for the long pile of text. But any suggestions would be welcome, even if they don’t use any of those names, since there’s more family options!
Edit - We just thought of Lea Michelle, after my mother and a mutual friend who is like a sister to us both. Not 100% set on it but both love it.
