In serious need of some name help

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], Berries, how are you? My name is [name_f]Thais[/name_f], I’m 16 and I’m here to ask you for some help in a school project. We have a group project on the MBTI personality types and we have to match them with colours, movies, numbers, songs, places, carreers and some other things, one of them being names. I’m in charge of two types so I need names that match them but I know absolutely nothing about names and I never understand how people can tell me that I look like a [name_f]Julia[/name_f], for example. Anyway, you guys think you could help me? I’m working only with girl names and I would really really appreciate your help. These are the types I’m in charge of and a little about them, I’m sorry if it’s too much to read. Any help will be highly appreciated. [name_f]TIA[/name_f]

#1: ENFP- “The Inspirers”
Positive Traits: Fun loving & lots of fun to be around, free-spirited, deeply caring and concerned for others, gifted at understanding others, friendly and open, Warmhearted and genuinely kind, typically possess a great sense of humor, supportive and encouraging, good communicators, extremely motivational and inspirational, tend to bring out the best in others, affectionate and affirming, lively, dramatic, energetic, enthusiastic, optimistic, typically loyal and dedicated, driven to help others and meet needs, view life as a special gift and strive to make the most of it, broad range of skills, talents – good at almost anything that interests them, often have ability to “talk their way out of anything”. Emotionally excitable, often intense individuals, value and need alone time to sort things out in their minds, possess strong people skills, place great importance on their personal relationships, flexible and easygoing, live in a world of exciting possibilities, are basically happy people, alert and sensitive – constantly scanning their environments, strong need to be independent – they resist being controlled or labeled, have no desire to control others and dislike the idea of doing so, charming, risk-takers, generally well-liked. Negative Traits: Can, be overly anxious and worrisome, tend to get bored easily, can be impulsive, prone to hold onto bad relationships for far too long, their enthusiasm may cause them to be unrealistic, not good with or interested in dealing with mundane daily tasks such as paying bills, cleaning, etc. Strongly dislike conflict and criticism, may not pay enough attention to their own needs, may (falsely) come off as directionless wanderers to onlookers, tendency to not follow through on projects, usually because they get excited about a new project and abandon the first for the second, may be overly concerned with being liked, not good with detailed-related tasks, always seeing the possibility of what could be often causes them become bored with what actually is.

#2: INTP - “The Thinkers”
Positive Traits: Extremely imaginative, creative and ingenious, tend to be highly intelligent, observant, generally laid-back and easy-going, usually go-getters, the love and affection they feel for those close to them is often childlike in its purity, enthusiastic in their approach to things that interest them, not personally threatened by conflict or criticism, interested in how things can be improved or what they can be turned into, great at analyzing problems, identifying patterns, and coming up with logical explanations/solutions, live primarily inside their minds, always seeking a higher understanding, value knowledge above all else, minds are constantly active, working to generate new theories or disprove existing ones, are questioning and skeptical of existing “rules” and popular opinions and define their own approaches, analytical, objective and theoretical, love new ideas and theories and discussing concepts with others, very tolerant and flexible in most situations. Have firmly held beliefs that they with staunchly stand up for, can be very shy when meeting new people, but are usually gregarious and confident around those they know well, base decisions on logic and objectivity, will not tailor what they believe to be the truth while expressing it to others, independent, unconventional and original, often brave and pioneering, unlikely to strive for traditional goals such as popularity or security, usually complex individuals. Negative Traits: Can be restless and temperamental, scatterbrained, disorganized, absent-minded, may seem dreamy and distant to others because of how much time they spend in their heads, not naturally in tune with the feelings of others - can be slow to respond to emotional needs, not naturally good at expressing their feelings, tendency to be suspicious and distrusting of others. Not naturally good with practical, day-to-day matters, tendency to have difficulty leaving unhealthy relationships, tend to either ignore conflict situations or blow up in heated anger in response to them, hate working on routine tasks, may be prone towards social rebellion, may be prone to feelings of over self-importance. [name_f]May[/name_f] become overly critical, sarcastic and cynical, may need to work on expressing their well-developed theories in a way that is understandable to others.

So the first I think of flowy, sometimes more uncommon, dreamy names. (And as I wrote the list out apparently ‘L’ heavy names)
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]/[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] (seriously this L thing is out of hand here but they were the only names I thought of when focusing on “the inspirers”)

The second I think of more common, stronger names, generally shorter.
[name_f]Cara[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_u]Jamie[/name_u]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_u]Dana[/name_u]
[name_f]Liz[/name_f]

These are literally just the names that came to my head when I thought of these personality types but I know they won’t for a lot of people so I hope it’s helpful and you find some common themes but I expect you are going to get a lot and very varied responses!

[name_f]Claire[/name_f]? Airy (free spirited)

Well, I’m an INTP myself and my name is [name_f]Annie[/name_f], if that helps!

ENFP: Spunky, retro, vintage, eclectic names like…

[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Christiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_f]Posey[/name_f]
[name_f]Roxanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f] or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Ronnie[/name_u]?)

INTP (other than [name_f]Annie[/name_f]!): Old-fashioned names, serious and classy yet quirky:

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Dolores[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]/[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]?)
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadine[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosemond[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Sybil[/name_f]
[name_f]Tamsin[/name_f]
[name_f]Winona[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]?)

Thank you! You know, now that you pointed it out the L-leavy sound does make sense to me, I’d totally picture that. You think maybe [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] could add to the first one? I though of [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] but I’m not so sure if it would fit there. Maybe [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] for the second? I don’t know, I just thought of them while going through your lists. Thank you so much for your help.

Yeah, I think they all fit well! I did actually think of [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] but thought I had enough L names there and didn’t add them in.

Yeah, makes sense to me too! Thank you.

thank you so much, annie!

My sister in law is an ENFP and her name is [name_f]Isla[/name_f] (almost named [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]), if that helps.

It does, thank you!

My name’s [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and I’m an INTP- I agree that short, strong, less frilly names are fitting for the INTP personality type like [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Nova[/name_f], [name_u]Blake[/name_u], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Petra[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f] etc.

As for ENFPs, I also agree that dreamier and more whimsical/unique names like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Aria[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], etc. fit well because of ENFP traits like being a feeling type as well as the creativity trait that comes along with being intuitive.

It might be interesting to think about nicknames - e.g., would an INTP adult woman (or a teenager who’s decided to choose her own nickname) named Elizabeth be likely to call herself Eliza or Beth or Liz? Or Lizzie, Bessie or Betsy? Lisbet or Lilibet? Elle or Elsie or Elsa? The E-bomb? Betty-Boop? The Liz-ster? Or would she go by her full name? Would she be likely to choose a different option if she were ENFP? Would an ENFP named Virginia go by Virginia or Ginny or Ginger or Vivi?
I think there are lots of possible correct answers to those questions, by the way. I think being able to explain your choices might be the most important thing.

Good luck

I’m an ENFP, and I’m called [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], often called [name_f]Immy[/name_f], if that helps at all.
