Ina

I just came across this name for the first time today and immediately really liked it. The pronunciation is eye-nuh. I like that it’s simple but still a really attractive name. Thoughts or opinions?

My initial gut reaction is to pronounce the name ee-na, despite knowing that it’s pronounced eye-nuh. [name]Just[/name] an FYI, because that may mean pronunciation problems from the general non-nameberry world. I do, however, like the name. It has a pretty simplicity to it. I do closely relate the name to [name]Ina[/name] Garten, not that it’s a bad thing.

I like the sound but prefer it spelled Aina.

I like it. [name]Ina[/name] Garten is a TV chef so I was familiar with the pronunciation. If not for that I I might have thought Een-uh or Inn-nuh.

I also like [name]Ida[/name] (daughter’s mn!) & [name]Ada[/name] & [name]Aida[/name].

Thanks for the thoughts!

My son’s name is [name]Ian[/name], and I’ve been thinking of [name]Ina[/name] as my baby girl’s name, but thought it would be pronounced as Inn-nuh. Now that I know it’s Eye-nuh, I like it even more!

I like the name too. I had an Aunt…she died a few years ago and her name was [name]Ina[/name]. She was a great lady. Her birth name was [name]Martha[/name] [name]Ina[/name] [name]Forbes[/name], but she always went with [name]Ina[/name].
