Indecisive: Alexandra or Aurora?

I’m not currently pregnant yet and I haven’t decided if we’re trying next year or waiting until our youngest is 3 to start trying. I currently have 2 daughters Mir@nda and [name_f]Marin[/name_f]@. I’ve been considering [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] for our last and final child. We already have our boy name picked out. Girls are hard to settle on. Which is your favorite and why? Thank you!

I love [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]! I think the nicknames [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] are cute and I, personally, have never met an [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. It’s a very strong name and I picture an intelligent, brave woman wearing it. [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is a bit too soft in my opinion. I also think that [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] flows the best with your two other girls. I’d also like to suggest [name_f]Amadea[/name_f] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] as potential names, if you’re looking for others. They work really well with [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f].

Thank you! We’d call her [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and [name_f]Alexa[/name_f]. I know 1 [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] who is my age. A classmate named his daughter [name_f]Alexa[/name_f]. That’s it besides [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]/[name_f]Alexus[/name_f]. We will probably go with [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] because it’s my dhs top name and I told him he could pick with out last child.

I prefer [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], it’s very versatile and timeless.

Personally I’d go for [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]! It’s a storybook-sweet name like her sisters’ names. And I love cute and spunky nicknames [name_u]Ori[/name_u]/[name_u]Ari[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u]! Or even [name_f]Aura[/name_f] for something quirky.
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] isn’t bad, but I find it pretty dated. I’d assume an [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] was in her late teens. And I definitely would avoid names starting with [name_f]Alexa[/name_f]- in this day and age because of the device.

I like both names, but I would to with [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. That extra syllable makes it feel like the end of a (beautiful) sentence.

Both are great, but I think I prefer [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].

Both are nice names but [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] works best to me - slightly mystical but grounded

My vote goes to [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is too similar to [name_f]Miranda[/name_f].

Thank you ! What do you think of [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]?

Thank you! I’m not big on [name_u]Rory[/name_u], but I know our families will call her that. We actually rarely call our daughters by nicknames. [name_f]Marina[/name_f] gets it more than [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] does. We don’t have an [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] so it wouldn’t be an issue. Mostly we’d just use the nicknames until the child grew into her name. We’re thinking [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f].

Thank you ! It’s such a beautiful name.

Thank you ! I love everything about [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. It’s [name_m]Roman[/name_m] Mythology connection, the nature connection, the Disney connection. [name_m]Just[/name_m] everything. I also love [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] too.

I love everything about [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] ”. However, I also love [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. Beautiful names so this will be hard :pensive:.

I know some people have said that about [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. They’re both beautiful names. This will be hard.

Thank you ! This will be hard. I love both names ”. And it’s currently a tie with the comments on here.

Oh! I didn’t even notice how similar [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] are (I was sleepy while replying to this the first time) so to my previous opinion I’m going to add that yes, I do think they’re a bit too similar. If you yelled out “[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]!” it’s quite possible that [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] would respond and vice versa. There’s also a small chance of both of them wanting to go by [name_u]Andy[/name_u] though it probably won’t happen.

As long as [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] doesn’t go by [name_u]Allie[/name_u] I’m fine. She’d probably go by [name_u]Alex[/name_u]. I also thought of [name_f]Xandra[/name_f], but my cousin has a [name_m]Xander[/name_m] and I’m not sure I love that.

I much prefer [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] - it’s sweet and naturesque. I’m not a real fan of [name_u]Alex[/name_u]- names, but my preference out of all of them is [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] with your other girls’ names! And I don’t think [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Miranda[/name_f].
