[name]Amanda[/name],

No, I don’t think [name]Aria[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] is flighty or lacking in strength. Yes, [name]Aria[/name] is a romantic, elegant, feminine name with a great deal of melody and flow, brought on by the fact that it certainly isn’t lacking in vowel sounds. But, a strong consonant like that R anchors the name. It’s certainly one that has sparkle and pizazz, but I agree with you that it needs to be balanced with a strong name. [name]Juliet[/name], though romantic and almost ethereal in its image, is really quite strong and solid in it’s look, if you ask me. The most prominent sounds in the name are consonants - the “j,” the “l,” and that “eht” at the end. All in all, it makes for a very balanced name with feminine charm and spunky flair.

[name]Annabel[/name] [name]Alice[/name] is just difficult to say, if you ask me. Those L’s get all tied together at the blending of the two names, making for an awkward combination. [name]Alice[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] I like, but boyfriend doesn’t, so that’s out.

So, yes, I’d go with [name]Aria[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] for sure. It’s striking!

[name]Lemon[/name]

Thanks lemon. I’m just having a hard time finalizing the choice.

That’s okay, [name]Amanda[/name] - perfectly natural, I’d assume. I’m eager to hear what others think…

If you don’t think [name]Juliet[/name] has enough substance to balance [name]Aria[/name]'s femininity, you could always go with a tried-and-true classic that is feminine without being frilly. I’m thinking of something like [name]Catherine[/name] - [name]Aria[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] Marinaccio.

[name]Lemon[/name]

I voted for [name]Annabel[/name]. [name]Aria[/name] may have a pretty sound, but like you were saying, I don’t think it’s established enough and seems like a flighty, insubstantial sort of name. Plus I don’t think it sounds great with your last name. [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Alice[/name] is lovely!

I definitely agree with [name]Lemon[/name] that [name]Aria[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] is a striking name, and I loved it from the start when you first mentioned it. I would say go with your initial feelings on this one. [name]Annabel[/name] is ok but it doesn’t do it for me, and it certainly doesn’t have that special factor that [name]Aria[/name] has.

Thanks for the vote irisrose. I do like [name]Aria[/name] though, even if it isn’t established. A couple months ago I was thinking about [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Ivy[/name], and still am considering it, maybe more than [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Alice[/name], since bf dislikes [name]Alice[/name]. He loves [name]Aria[/name], and thinks [name]Annabel[/name] is “acceptable”.

I like [name]Aria[/name], too!! Although it’d be super ironic and cute if both of us ended up going with [name]Annabel[/name]. Anyway, I think [name]Aria[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] is gorgeous. I did like lemon’s suggestion of [name]Aria[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], too, though. Maybe that’s a route to go if you feel like both [name]Aria[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] are too romantic or flighty.

hi elsiekutz-

It would be strange if we both went with [name]Annabel[/name]. [name]Brent[/name] seems to have opened up about names a bit, while [name]Rich[/name] still only really likes 3 names + [name]Annabel[/name] being acceptable.

PS I voted for [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Ava[/name] on your poll. About [name]Sophia[/name] being popular- my 12yo niece is a [name]Sophie[/name] (she is [name]Sophie[/name] [name]Gabriella[/name]), and she LOVES her name.

I love [name]Aria[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]! What a beautiful name to go with your ln! Another option is [name]Juliet[/name] for a first name:

[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Aria[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Alice[/name]

[name]Amanda[/name], have you guys made a decision at all?? When are you due, again?

What about two middle names to get both [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] in there?

[name]Aria[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]? I love this!

frenchie- I love your suggestion for having [name]Ivy[/name] be the first middle name. The name [name]Ivy[/name] is so pretty.

[name]Erica[/name]- We might be decided on [name]Aria[/name] [name]Juliet[/name], but there’s just something that rubs me wrong about [name]Aria[/name]. Maybe it’s the fact that I grew up with so many Ariels ([name]Ariel[/name] is a very common hebrew name, and I went to hebrew school), or that it makes me think of a cross between [name]Arianna[/name] [name]Huffington[/name] and [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Sharon[/name] (both kind of harsh images).

I’m just not sure.

kyemsma- thanks for the suggestion of [name]Juliet[/name] as a first name, but I think I prefer it as a middle.
[name]Erica[/name]- due [name]December[/name] 18th.

First name options that [name]Rich[/name] loves:
[name]Willow[/name]: doesn’t go with last name and is a little bit flimsy to me. I also worry that my daughter might not be “willowy”.
[name]Athena[/name]: I love the strength that this name has. It’s still a contender
[name]Aria[/name]: I like it, and can’t place what it is that makes it seem a little bit wrong.
Maybe it’s the fact that it does not fit with mine or my boyfriend’s personalities. We’re both kind of sciency people- I am a lab technologist and he is a programmer. Maybe the name seems more suited to the daughter of an artist. [name]Even[/name] though most people here seem to like [name]Aria[/name] better than [name]Athena[/name], I feel that [name]Athena[/name] suits our sort of sciency/nerdy family better. Does that make sense?
[name]Scout[/name]: Spunky, but it’s the kind of name she might be embarrassed of if she’s conventional.

Names I like and bf does not hate:
[name]Amelia[/name]: too popular?
[name]Charlotte[/name]: too popular?
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]: [name]Love[/name] it, but feel it might be too cutesy
[name]Genevieve[/name]: too long for last name? I think we’d prefer this as a middle. There’s also the issue of pronunciation. I say [name]Gen[/name]-e-VEEV, and am wondering if it’s lame to use a French name and pronounce it different from the French pronunciation.
[name]Scarlett[/name]: love the spunkiness of this name, but [name]Rich[/name] thinks [name]Scarlett[/name] sounds “like a b*tch”. He doesn’t hate it though, and if I love it, he would be open. He prefers [name]Violet[/name], but I feel that the name [name]Violet[/name] is a bit weaker than [name]Scarlett[/name].
[name]Ivy[/name]: not sure I’m in love with it enough to make it a first name
[name]Francesca[/name]: like the Italian sound with the Marinaccio last name, but is it too long? I also don’t like the nn [name]Fran[/name].

Names I like that [name]Rich[/name] most probably will never come around to (probably no point listing this):
[name]Matilda[/name]: I think [name]Matilda[/name] Marinaccio sounds adorable.
[name]Sylvia[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Freya[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name]

*and then there are many names that are too quirky for first names, but I like for middles.

It seems that the real contenders for first name are:
[name]Athena[/name]
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name]

Does anyone have a suggestion for a name that sounds strong, spunky and smart?

What about just [name]Lea[/name] or [name]Lia[/name] for a first name? It is feminine yet not too flouncy, it’s got enough familiarity so as to be established but you don’t hear it everywhere, and it’s got a subtle strength, sophistication, and smartness that gives it that winning feel! I also think that names like [name]Alla[/name], [name]Camille[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Grace[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Lana[/name] (or [name]Alana[/name]), [name]Liv[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Stella[/name], and [name]Vida[/name] would work well.

I think [name]Aria[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] are my favorites off your list, though, [name]Amanda[/name], but I understand your concerns about them, especially [name]Aria[/name], being too artsy or romantic when that really isn’t you and [name]Rich[/name]. Yes, it could be your daughter, but you want a name that sounds like you’d choose it. But, again, sometimes we surprise ourselves, right?

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Lemon[/name]-

of your suggestions, I like [name]Leah[/name], [name]Iris[/name], and [name]Stella[/name]. Can’t use [name]Eva[/name] since it’s my Mom’s name, and in my family, naming after living relatives is tabboo. [name]Leah[/name] may be just a bit boring though. I asked [name]Rich[/name] what he thought of [name]Stella[/name] a while back, and he just looked at me confused and said “[name]Stella[/name]?” like I asked him a bizarre question. I don’t know what his issue is with [name]Stella[/name], but apparently he does not like it. [name]Iris[/name] is a name that’s growing on me. Not sure which I like better- [name]Iris[/name] or [name]Ivy[/name]. Leaning toward [name]Iris[/name]. Thank you!

What do you think of [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Athena[/name] Marinaccio? or [name]Athena[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] Marinaccio?
What would you pair with [name]Iris[/name]?

[name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Athena[/name] is my preference, even though it is rather long with Marinaccio - that’s fine, if you love it!

What would I pair with [name]Iris[/name] if I could pick anything? Hm. Let’s see…

[name]Iris[/name] [name]Amelie[/name] Marinaccio
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] Marinaccio
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Ellery[/name] Marinaccio
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Fiona[/name] Marinaccio
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] Marinaccio
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Noelle[/name] Marinaccio
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Opal[/name] Marinaccio

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Amelia[/name]: too popular? Not too popular in my book / good with marinaccio
[name]Charlotte[/name]: too popular? Not too popular in my book/ good with marinaccio
[name]Eloise[/name] (rare, and [name]Ellie[/name] is cute) not my favorite with marinaccio
[name]Annabel[/name]: [name]Love[/name] it, but feel it might be too cutesy I agree its feels to cutesy. not my favorite with marinaccio as the flow feels off.
[name]Genevieve[/name]: too long for last name? The issue of pronounciation and spelling will be issues, and it doesnt flow well with Marinaccio.
I personally like [name]Scarlett[/name] better of the two. With that said [name]Violet[/name] is nice too, it does feel more innocent then [name]Scarlett[/name] does. And both go with Marinaccio
[name]Ivy[/name]: not sure I’m in love with it enough to make it a first name I get what you mean, I think I like your other choices better so far.
[name]Francesca[/name]: like the Italian sound with the Marinaccio last name, but is it too long? I also don’t like the nn [name]Fran[/name]. I like the name, but as a whole is very extravagant and long, but it does flow well. And I also dont like [name]Fran[/name].
[name]Matilda[/name]: I think [name]Matilda[/name] Marinaccio sounds adorable.
[name]Sylvia[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] cute
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Freya[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] cute
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Jane[/name] cute
[name]Rosalind[/name]

[b]Im going to give ideas based on styles you seem to like as well as having a good flow by style /sound wise with Marinaccio. the names Im listing are low on popularity as Im getting the sense that is important.

[name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Clarissa[/name]
[name]Annalise[/name]
[name]Luciana[/name][/b]

Thanks for the feedback plato! And- I love your suggestion of [name]Luciana[/name]- the only problem is that [name]Rich[/name]'s sister is [name]Lucia[/name]. That’s kind of our problem with [name]Lucy[/name], though I do love [name]Lucy[/name].

If we go with something as popular as [name]Charlotte[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name], we’d probably use a very uncommon middle name. I’d give [name]Rich[/name] his second favorite name as the middle- [name]Scout[/name]. hmm…
[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Scout[/name] Marincaccio.

Would you be embarrassed of your middle name if it was [name]Scout[/name]?

[name]Scout[/name] is warming up to me as a middle name. A friend just dropped over two boxes of girl’s clothes for our baby, and it’s all pink pink pink. I’m getting pink overdose, and started looking on Amazon.com at the cute blue boy’s clothing with neat things like Dinosaurs on them. With all of that pink, I feel like the middle name [name]Scout[/name] might be refreshing. nice and tomboyish.

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Lauren[/name],

love [name]Iris[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]. I asked [name]Rich[/name] about these two combos, and he said “[name]Imogen[/name] is lame” and “[name]Fiona[/name] is too Irish”. He’s just ok with [name]Iris[/name].

His second favorite name (after [name]Willow[/name]) is [name]Scout[/name]. What are your thoughts on [name]Athena[/name] [name]Scout[/name]? [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Scout[/name]? The more pink clothing we get as gifts, the less I like [name]Aria[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]. I feel like I’ve overdosed on girliness. Does that make sense?
