Is [name_f]India[/name_f] offensive? And if not what would you put it with?
I don’t think it’s offensive at all. I know two girls names [name_f]India[/name_f] however one is spelt Indyah which I personally prefer.
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Raine[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Amber[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Savannah[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Trixie[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] is so pretty, and I don’t think it’s offensive at all! Here are some middle ideas:
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] (You can call her [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]!)
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Mallory[/name_f]
I am unsure if it would be offensive to some but I am personally not fond of it as a name. I adore Indie.
I like [name_f]India[/name_f] a lot, but I am not American. I think it’s beautiful.
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Amy[/name_f]
I don’t think it’s necessarily offensive, but it is a little out there as a first name.
[name_f]India[/name_f] has a long history as a name. I think it is gorgeous!
I don’t think [name_f]India[/name_f] is offensive at all. I do think it is a little out there and bold as a name. I prefer [name_f]Indie[/name_f] and [name_u]Indiana[/name_u] over [name_f]India[/name_f].
[name_f]India[/name_f] is lovely.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] though no one else has mentioned it, [name_f]India[/name_f] has a history of being offensive to Indians, from what I’ve heard. If I’m remembering correctly, when the British ruled over [name_f]India[/name_f] as a colony, a lot of the officers named their daughters [name_f]India[/name_f], and it has a lot to do with cultural appropriation. I like [name_f]India[/name_f] a lot, but I’m hesitant to use it. I’ve actually been thinking about it as a middle, to honor the veterans in my family (if you’re not familiar with the military alphabet, “I” is “[name_f]India[/name_f]”)–it seemed like a fun way to reference a part of them that I value very much. But I hesitate to go for it because I don’t want to offend any Indians, and I don’t know how they’d feel about it.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is on my list and I love [name_f]India[/name_f] as name, my heritage also stems from [name_f]India[/name_f] originally, so I am using it to honour that. Ashthedreamer is right about the historical issues that surround the name , I honestly don’t think you’d receive negative comments in regards to it, however, being aware of it’s history is never a bad thing. Personally though, I love [name_f]India[/name_f], it’s one of a few I names I actually like.
