Indian name - a sister for Khushi and Riaan

We have just found out that we are expecting a daughter this autumn. She will join Khushi (6) and Riaan (3). We are making a list of indian names for girls and so far we have the following:

Janvi/Janhvi/ Jahnavi - I’m drawn to it as it’s the name of my deceased best friend whom I wish to honor. She spelled her name Janvi but I like the ‘h’ in Janhvi. I adore the nicknames [name_u]Jan[/name_u], Janu, Vee and [name_f]Jani[/name_f]
Shriya/[name_f]Shreya[/name_f] - my husband loves this name but our last name is Saran and there’s an actress named Shriya Saran so there’s that

Other names we like:
Shamita
Nandini
[name_f]Aishwarya[/name_f]
[name_f]Alia[/name_f] (My husband likes it but I am not a fan)
Aaradhya
Sonam

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the name Janvi and which spelling variations you think are better? Which of the names go well with Khushi and Riaan? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other suggestions? We would love to know your opinion!

My favorites (of people I’ve met) would have to be Navya, Kavya, [name_f]Avani[/name_f], [name_u]Amal[/name_u], Divya, [name_m]Kiran[/name_m], [name_f]Neha[/name_f], [name_f]Leela[/name_f], Raniya, Sanjana, Ravini, [name_f]Ria[/name_f]

[name_f]Priya[/name_f] [name_f]Shreya[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] are all pretty but I know soooo many

Thank you for your suggestions  I really like [name_f]Avani[/name_f]

I prefer Janhvi and Jahnavi best for an honor first name. If you use it in the middle name spot, I would consider keeping her original spelling.

From your list I have always like [name_f]Aishwarya[/name_f], but really love Aaradhya! It really flows nicely.

I really like Janvi. If you need the h I would put it before the n, not after. Also really like Nandini and Aradhya.

From those I’ve met, I really like:
Nikhila
Shovanna (not sure of spelling)
Kirti
Malvika

First of all I love Khushi, what a great meaning. Good choice.

I think Janvi would go very well with Khushi and Riaan. If you live in an English-speaking country I’d be tempted to use the spelling with no H because it’s simpler and most english speakers won’t pronounce the H anyway. But if you do decide to use the H, it might be a good way to differentiate your daughter from her namesake while still honoring your friend.

Maybe you’d like another name that’s similar or semi-rhymes with Janvi, like [name_f]Saanvi[/name_f]?

I also like Nandini as a sister for Khushi and Riaan. Or maybe something with a similar ending, like Shalini or [name_f]Kalindi[/name_f]?

I think because of your personal reasons, Janvi/Janhvi is a good choice. I prefer the Janvi spelling because I kept forgetting where the “H” was supposed to go when spelling it just now, and I think Janvi looks a bit more crisp. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the sound of Aaradhya, but I have trouble spelling it too. I also really like the above suggestion of [name_f]Avani[/name_f]!

I like [name_f]Shreya[/name_f], Jahnavi and Nandini!

Janaki, [name_f]Nadira[/name_f], [name_f]Darshini[/name_f] and Disha are a few others I can think of

I love the name Janvi/Jahnvi. Either spelling works for me, although I think if you have the “h” in their people will more likely pronounce it the right way.

I’ve always loved the name Arjuna. I know it’s a male [name_f]Indian[/name_f] name, but it sounds so beautiful to me.

I know it’s not on your list but I love the name [name_f]Deva[/name_f], [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is cute too.

I don’t know where you live but if you don’t live in [name_f]India[/name_f] i think [name_f]Aishwarya[/name_f] and Aaradhya are too complicated to write for a non [name_f]Indian[/name_f].
