Indie vs. Indiana for baby girl

DH & I have been searching for the perfect name for baby sister to big sisters [name_u]Emery[/name_u] & Eisley. We’ve looked for a name that fits stylistically with the other girls but isn’t too matchy-matchy & I think we’ve decided we want to call her [name_f]Indie[/name_f], but are trying to decide if that is too “nicknamey” or young, or if it will work on it’s own.

Our alternative idea is to name her [name_u]Indiana[/name_u], nn [name_f]Indie[/name_f] - this would allow her to go by [name_u]Indiana[/name_u] or even [name_f]Ana[/name_f] if she likes as she gets older.

I’ve gotten mixed reactions on both of these options & I’d love your input! We’re not really looking for other names that nn [name_f]Indie[/name_f] as we have searched & searched & most don’t fit our style or taste :slight_smile:

I adore [name_f]Indie[/name_f]. I have [name_f]Indie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] on my list. [name_f]Indie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is beautiful and spunky.

Usually I prefer names with nicknames but in this case I prefer [name_f]Indie[/name_f] with [name_u]Emery[/name_u] and Eisley. I love the combo [name_f]Indie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] still gives her options to go by when she is older if she wishes.

If you want to call her [name_f]Indie[/name_f], name her that. [name_f]Indie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is delightful!

I have a baby Cousin called [name_f]Indie[/name_f], it was actually on my list haha but I adore the name so much.

Definitely [name_f]Indie[/name_f]. [name_f]Indie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is a little more substantial and balanced, but [name_f]Indie[/name_f] [name_f]Meg[/name_f] has a cute, sporty feel to it. Definitely not [name_u]Indiana[/name_u], though.

I love the name [name_f]Indie[/name_f]! It’s on my list as well for a potential second daughter. The middle I have picked out to go with it is [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] :slight_smile: Out of your options, I like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] the best.

I think just [name_f]Indie[/name_f] definitely fits better with your other girls names, and out of the three middle name combos I like [name_f]Indie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] the most - seems the most balanced and has the best flow :slight_smile:
