I am surprised that [name]Indie[/name] isn’t on Nameberry.
Its in the top 100 girls names in NZ (2012)
What are your opinions on it?

I’m Kiwi…SO yup I think it is pretty cool. Was on my list. (But I wanted [name]Indigo[/name] nick name [name]Indie[/name]-hubby thought it sounded too hippy),
I’m quite fond of it, especially as a nickname for [name]Indiana[/name]. I prefer it spelled as [name]Indy[/name] though; there’s something spunky about that y ending, lol.
Hehe i agree with you!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Indie[/name], but I’m not too fond of [name]Indiana[/name], [name]Indigo[/name] or [name]Indira[/name]
I’d prefer [name]Indie[/name] spelled [name]Indy[/name], but I’d really prefer [name]India[/name]! [name]Indie[/name]/[name]Indy[/name] is too nicknamey for me.
It’s popular in Australia, too
Mmm i think its all thanks to Home and Away… i love the name but i always associate it with the character off of that awful show xD
I love [name]Indie[/name] as a nickname. I would name the girl [name]Indiana[/name] or [name]India[/name] first and use [name]Indie[/name] as a nickname sometimes
I love it as short for [name]Ingrid[/name]!
I think it’s too nickname-y for me as a full name. I also prefer the [name]Indy[/name] spelling. [name]Indira[/name] though is in my top 5 favorite names though with the nn [name]Indy[/name]. Not sure I’ll ever be able to use it, but I love it nonetheless.
I like indie but feel that it’s a nickname masquerading as a fn. so it would be indigo or [name]India[/name] but I hate those names soo…
