I had never really considered Indie to be trendy (in the US). It is in the 700s in popularity which is just where I like names to be. It is rising each year however, and I am starting to worry. It seems like every influencer or hipster parent I see with a baby on tiktok has an Indie/Indy. I also noticed that it’s significantly more popular in the US which can be an indicator of trends. I did some polls in the quick poll thread but I’d love more insight.

I definitely agree that [name_u]Indie[/name_u] seems to be a popular influencer name right now. A lot of those “cool parents” are using it along with nature names seems to be the current trends. I could see [name_u]Indie[/name_u] and [name_u]River[/name_u] being siblings or [name_u]Indie[/name_u] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u].

[name_u]Indie[/name_u] does seem to be a little “influencer trendy” if that makes sense -there’s just something stylish, unique-but-familiar, minimalistic and also modern about it that feels like it suits that influencer culture.
I can see either slightly hippyish and earth conscious parents or modern, glam parents having an [name_u]Indie[/name_u]. I’ve only ever met one though.
