Basically a compilation of what I’ve noticed when it comes to Influencers/YouTubers/Content Creators naming their children over the years:
It seems that any online influencer or content creator is influenced by any trend, and that doesn’t seem to stop at names. The only thing that I seem to find interesting about most influencers is what they name their kids . It’s pretty interesting to watch how what they were naming their kids let’s say 10 years ago has evolved into what they do now.
Like 10 years ago, it wasn’t that uncommon to hear the names Everleigh or Peyton (and all their variants) on the average family channel, or names like Asher or Kaden (and all its variants too) for their sons. Nowadays you seem to hear more unique names such as Bambi & Charm rather than Everleigh or Peyton. If y’all can find better examples, list them here
Other examples for modern boy names that I can think of are Koazy & [name_m]Jagger[/name_m], both of which feel much more modern than [name_m]Asher[/name_m] & [name_m]Kaden[/name_m]
Oh yeah, names like [name_m]Oakley[/name_m], [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], [name_m]Zayden[/name_m] etc. are going out of style for the youtubers, I’m seeing more names like [name_m]Cove[/name_m], [name_f]Bliss[/name_f], [name_f]Haven[/name_f] etc
Oh, I get this. Hate that they share all their kids private lives and details, but sadly I do find what they name them interesting
In terms of names, I guess they’ve got to stay ahead of the trends - like [name_f]Everleigh[/name_f] and [name_f]Peyton[/name_f] are what everyone’s using these days, so it’s too ‘expected’ and I suppose it’s just like on social media in general, they’ve got to do the next big thing before it’s the big thing?
I do find it especially interesting to compare the eldest (often pre-YT) kids’ names to the younger ones?
I’m not too clued up on influencers these days, and the only one coming to mind is Family Fizz: eldest two are [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] - on trend and popular, but tame → younger two are [name_f]Karma[/name_f] and [name_m]Koa[/name_m], not the most out there, but not popular in the UK at all
I was gonna mention them about that too!! I’ve noticed that as well whether it’s on youtube or instagram, looking at all the kids they named years prior are often wildly different from the youngest ones. Sure after years your name style can change but I think it’s interesting to see.
Another one that comes to mind is the Beans family, the eldest ones named [name_m]Evan[/name_m] and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] while the youngest ones named [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f].
I’m sure there’d be many more that we could compare for fun and out of curiosity but alas I don’t know many.
Same trend in Australia, these sorts of names (changing from more boho-beachy ones like [name_f]Avalon[/name_f], [name_m]Airlie[/name_m] & [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] etc):
I feel like it is the family channels and influencers that use very on trend and modern names. I find that the influencers who tend to share less of their families and kids use less modern names or names like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], something popular, but still classic. I mean, they could really love more modern names and maybe that’s just their style, but I feel that most of the time it’s them just trying to stay on the popular and on-trend side of things.
