I always really liked the name [name]Ingrid[/name], and it heaps more interesting than [name]Clara[/name].
I [name]Love[/name] [name]Ingrid[/name], classy and distinct, and it evokes [name]Ingrid[/name] Bergman which is wonderful.
[name]Clara[/name] is sweet, however I dislike [name]Claire[/name], and I agree [name]Clara[/name] has a slight ‘such a soft name’ feel as to be barely there.
I love [name]Clara[/name] [name]Mae[/name]! [name]Ingrid[/name] [name]Maria[/name] would be my second choice. Either way, both names are gorgeous.
We have a [name]German[/name] last name, thought not ‘uber’ [name]German[/name], if that makes sense.
Thanks for all your feedback everyone! I think one person put it well when they said they have a ‘secret love’ for [name]Ingrid[/name]. We really like the name, but not sure if we’re ‘bold’ enough to name our daughter this. I do think it is really elegant and sophisticated, but fear it might be a little too foreign, and I think it is a little ‘harsh’ sounding, though not overly-so. [name]Clara[/name] is definitely an opposite type of name, very light and ethereal, and is one my wife prefers right now.
We’re still thinking about other potential middle names, as well as first names. I’m rooting for [name]Ingrid[/name] though, and perhaps [name]Marie[/name] or [name]Maria[/name] as a middle name. We still have several months to figure this out and for all we know we could have a boy (which right now we would name [name]Tobias[/name] [name]James[/name]), but I’m anxious to finalize it!
