no one pays attention to initials… never once did someone bring that up with me, my initials sound like a radio station. and if it does come up as kids… they aren’t going to get it and when they are old enough to get it, they aren’t going to have that conversation.

No child will know what HPV is until he or she is older, but I still think it is a problem. Yes, it isn’t something as blatantly obvious as “A.S.S.” or something, but I still think it is less than ideal! Also, I know sometimes people don’t pay attention to initials, and maybe I just grow up in a culture of monogramming, but it always looks better to have nice initials! For example, mine - L.E.M. - weren’t ignored, hence my username, “[name]Lemon[/name].” And, I once had a friend whose initials were “S.A.S.” and people sometimes called her sassafras! So, if you can change it up a bit, it might be best for your daughter…

[name]Harper[/name] [name]Paisley[/name], right? I’m trying to think of something comparable, and all I am getting is [name]Harper[/name] [name]Tawny[/name]. Maybe [name]Harper[/name] [name]Finley[/name], [name]Harper[/name] [name]Landry[/name], [name]Harper[/name] [name]Oakley[/name]?

[name]Lemon[/name]

I’m probably the minority, but anytime I hear a birth announcement from friends/family, I always check the baby’s initials to make sure the parents did their homework and it doesn’t spell something bad.

HPV would definitely be something I’d avoid if I could. Is [name]Paisley[/name] significant to you in some way, or could it be replaced?

The beautiful name [name]Harper[/name] [name]Paisley[/name] will outshine any possible teasing over initials.

i love the name [name]Landry[/name] spelled Landrey but i like it too much to make it a middle name. I have Landrey [name]Olivia[/name] picked out as well…but the general consensus is that looks a lot like laundry lol. Maybe [name]Harper[/name] Landrey would be good…

I think [name]Harper[/name] [name]Landry[/name] is very cute, as would be [name]Harper[/name] [name]Olivia[/name], actually…

[name]Lemon[/name]

Yes, [name]Paisley[/name] is kind of significant. My hubby and I were driving in fort myers a looong time ago when we were still dating and ran across [name]Paisley[/name] street. we both just kind of looked at each other and liked it for a girl-but over the years ive doubted it would be good for a proffesional, if thats what she decided to be-so maybe it was better as a middle name. Then [name]Harper[/name] [name]Paisley[/name] and…HPV. lol.

I like a few other names but almost all of them have something I dont know if I can get past:

[name]Ashlyn[/name]-[name]Just[/name] ok. not so big on “ash” bc i knew so many ashleys growing up and the -yn’s are a little bit too trendy i think.
Gracen-I prefer the nickname [name]Gray[/name] to [name]Grace[/name] which my hubby isnt too fond of.
Everleigh-Really liked this, but upon a google search I found out it was the name of a high class brothel…hmm.
[name]Harper[/name]-Hubs loves this bc of [name]Harper[/name] [name]Lee[/name] but I am kind of annoyed by its growing popularity. However, most people [name]Ive[/name] asked like this the best out of all the names [name]Ive[/name] picked.
Landrey-really like this but a lot of people dont. I know it looks like laundry but i dont really care i dont think. but [name]Paisley[/name] cant really be used with it or [name]Harper[/name] and thats the only one of the 3 that holds any real significance.

Unfortunately, the day will come when she will be aghast to realize what those letters are an acronym for. I recommend changing one of the names. Maybe you’ll have a chance to use one of the names for a second daughter. Or could you insert another name, such as [name]Anne[/name]… like [name]Harper[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Paisley[/name]?

Hm. Maybe if [name]Paisley[/name] is significant, you could switch up [name]Harper[/name] and still use it as a middle name? Here are some alternatives:

[name]Arden[/name] [name]Paisley[/name] - This always seems to remind me of [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Arden[/name], but I think it is a really pretty, soft name with definite substance. Plus, its unique!

[name]Carson[/name] [name]Paisley[/name] - Boy name? Maybe, but I definitely could see this working on a girl…

[name]Parker[/name] [name]Paisley[/name] - Yes, I know most people consider [name]Parker[/name] to be a boy name through-and-through, but I’ve actually met a girl named [name]Parker[/name].

[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Paisley[/name] - This is really cute for a girl, I think! You’ve got a literary connection to [name]Tom[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name] ([name]Mark[/name] [name]Twain[/name]), and it seems less common than [name]Harper[/name] appears to be.

[name]Schuyler[/name] [name]Paisley[/name] - This one might be mispronounced often, though (its just like [name]Skyler[/name]!), but it looks dignified if you ask me!

[name]Sloane[/name] [name]Paisley[/name] - I’m not really a [name]Sloane[/name] fan, but it does have a certain elegance to it, a real staying-power sort of quality that appeals to me.

[name]Lemon[/name]

you could add an additional middle name to split about the HPV initials…

eg [name]Harper[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Paisley[/name]… HAPV
[name]Harper[/name] [name]Paisley[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] HPMV, etc…

very good idea!

arden actually is on the long list, but hubby isnt crazy about it- and i do like sawyer, but we live in alabama and my husband pronounces it differently than i do lol (think saw-yer verses soy-yer)

Maybe it’s because I’m in Australia but I have no idea what HPV stands for…therefore these initials sound fine to me.

hvp disease can be characterized by a genital wart, dysplasitc cells on the cervix or just be asymptomatic. At least 80% of the world population has some form of it, generally it becomes dormant and one never becomes aware of it.

@ choices

HPV stands for human papillomavirus. As the previous poster said, many people just have HPV in their systems, and there are about 100 different types of the virus. Most of these are harmless and you wouldn’t even know you had HPV, but about 30 types can put you at risk for or cause cervical cancer. There’s been a lot of attention on it recently - at least in the US - because a vaccine was created a few years ago to prevent HPV infections and thus cervical cancer. It’s a huge public health concern because the HPV vaccine is a relatively easy - albeit expensive and time consuming - way to prevent most cervical cancer, as HPV is implicated in the development of nearly 70% of all cervical cancers.

[name]Hope[/name] that helps you! Now maybe you can understand why some of us are concerned about HPV as someone’s initials. Though maybe not as bad, it’s kind of like having HIV as your initials, I think…

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]How[/name] about [name]Harper[/name] [name]Ainsley[/name]? [name]Ainsley[/name] and [name]Paisley[/name] sound so so close to me.

I think [name]Paisley[/name] [name]Harper[/name] is just fine for a professional. I’d take legal advice from a [name]Paisley[/name].

Are you worried about the -ee sound on the end? Because I think it’s less of a [name]Bambi[/name]/[name]Tammy[/name] sort of vibe, and has more of a [name]Mary[/name]/[name]Lucy[/name] thing going on.
