Initials - how bad is it?

We’ve fallen in love with a name but just realized the initials spell out IMP - how bad is it in your humble opinion? The middle name is a family name that we are set on using, so our only option would be to use a different first name.

Not the best, of course, but I really don’t think it’s a major deal! The more common initials your babe uses through like will be IP anyway, which is totally fine.

I think it’s totally fine. IMP isn’t all bad, there could be something quite cute about it. Besides, as previously said, mostly their initials will be IP.

For me personally, I wouldn’t have the guts to go through with it. I think most people wouldn’t notice, but… You might just have to prepare yourself for when someone brings it up.

Lmao this made me laugh. IMP is great and I think no worries for using that. [name_f]My[/name_f] son is HMM and we are seriously considering names that will make my daughter UMM!!! Hmm and umm!!!

Not to mention a close work friend who named his kid with the initials … ASS.

Not ideal, though I doubt most kids nowadays would even know what that means, so I wouldn’t worry about a lot of teasing if that’s what you’re concerned about. If you really love the name, I’d say go for it.

IMP is not the best, but it’s not that bad either. I think people usually don’t pay attention to initials. Unless they become a president or something… Totally could happen. :blush:
[name_f]My[/name_f] friend’s parents are both chemistry professors and they gave him and his sis both names in such a way that the initials would spell some serious hardcore drug :joy: Him and his sis are both super cool, ridiculously intelligent, charismatic people and they really wear the names well. :smile:

I think it’s fine, and kind of cutsie. I don’t know how many people would even notice. It’s not really a word we use much anymore.
