So the front runner for our baby girl’s name starts with a V. Our last name starts with W.
When I was sharing our idea with one person she quickly tore it apart, partially because of initials being VW. Is that really a teasing point? Volkswagen-VW? Since then we stopped sharing but I’d love some other opinions.
Full initials would probably be VRW…

I don’t really think that matters at all. So many initials stand for things. It’s not like it’s BJ. I think VW is fine! So it’s a kind of car, no big deal.

There are some initials I wouldn’t burden a child with, but VW isn’t one of them. I would say its a fairly neutral connotation. The occasional person might comment on it, but most people won’t even know and those who do would mostly find it interesting rather than negative.
I wouldn’t rule out a name based on the VW connection. People might make the connection, but I can’t imagine it’s a negative one. If you don’t like seeing it, you could emphasize the middle initial - VRW instead of just VW.

I would go for it. I didn’t piece them together and she won’t use her initials all that often. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom’s are PMS so it could certainly be worse for little VW!

VW is totally ok! [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern is that both are at the end of the alphabet, so no matter what in Elementary school, she’ll always be at the end. But if you aren’t too concerned about that (and it isn’t that big of a deal), then there is nothing wrong with VW! I think VW looks pretty cool tbh.
